Can't Win Me Back (Isabella and Nathan)

Chapter 59

Victoria coldly reprimanded Isabella, "Bella, how dare you insult Nathan? Apologize to him right now!"

Isabella's warm eyes suddenly flashed with deep hostility.

Then, without warning, there was a sharp sound in the air.

Followed by Victoria's scream, "Ah!"

Isabella practically used all her strength to slap Victoria. She glared at her with hatred, "Victoria, who do you think you are? You think you can control me?" Victoria immediately ran into Nathan's arms, crying pitifully.

"Nathan, I just wanted to discipline my Sis. I never expected her to misunderstand me so deeply."

Isabella was speechless.

She turned to leave, but Nathan suddenly grabbed her wrist tightly. "Isabella, apologize to your Sis."

Isabella stared at him as if he were an idiot. "If your eyes don't work, you can take them out and donate them. Didn't you see she deserves to be slapped?" Nathan snapped, "She's your Sis. It's her duty to discipline you."

Isabella laughed bitterly, furiously breaking free from his grip. "She's not my Sis! She's just the enemy who stole my kidney."

"Nathan, you don't have what it takes, I'm afraid your luck can't handle it."

In Isabella's eyes, Nathan saw a trace of murderous intent.

At that moment, he was stunned.

How could Isabella hate him so much?

It must have been a misunderstanding.

"Let go of me."

"You apologize first."

The two of them stood facing each other, the atmosphere tense and charged.

At that moment, the butler suddenly entered the room.

"Mr. Hill, the young master of the Sanchez family is here to visit."

Nathan unwillingly released Isabella's wrist, but still gave her a commanding look. "Go back to your room. Don't let Young Master Sanchez see you making a fool of yourself." Isabella asked the butler, "Which Young Master Sanchez?"

"The young master of the Sanchez family," the butler replied.

Nathan's handsome face instantly darkened. "What's he here for at a time like this?"

Just then, a faint, woody fragrance wafted through the air, gentle and fresh like a soft breeze, bringing a sense of calm.

The next moment, a young man with an elegant demeanor walked into the hall, his steps light and graceful.

Nathan quickly put on a fake smile and hypocritically said, "I didn't know Young Master Sanchez was visiting. Please forgive our lack of a proper welcome."

Theodore didn't even glance at him but walked directly to Isabella. His warm gaze landed on her face, and when he saw the five fingerprint marks on her cheek, his gaze instantly turned icy as it shifted to Victoria. Victoria trembled under his cold aura, shrinking closer to Nathan.

"You hit her?" Theodore's voice was as cold as thousand-year-old ice.

Victoria's voice shook. "My Sis was disrespecting Nathan, so I thought I should discipline her. After all, I'm her older Sis..."

Theodore's tone was chilling. "Older Sis? That's great. Your Sis owes me a huge debt. Are you going to pay it off for her?"

Victoria's face went pale as she stammered, "I'm only her Sis by blood, but legally, we're not connected at all."

"Since you're not legally related, what right do you have to hit her?"

With that, Theodore began to roll up his sleeves, clearly preparing to take matters into his own hands.

Victoria's face turned ashen with fear.

Nathan pulled Victoria behind him and gritted his teeth. "Young Master Sanchez, this is a family matter of mine. You have no right to interfere."

Theodore sneered, "Mr. Hill, to those

who know, Isabella is the wife of Mr. Hill. To those who don't, they'd think Victoria is your wife. If you were in ancient times, you'd be the kind of man who would favor the concubine and eliminate the wife-getting yourself thrown into a pig cage."

Nathan suppressed his anger. "Young Master Sanchez, your hand is reaching too far. Who gave you the right to manage my family affairs? Isn't that a bit too much?" Theodore took out a document, pulled out the agreement inside, shook it open, and revealed a contract. It was the 'selling contract' between Isabella and Theodore.

"From now on, Isabella will work for me 24 hours a day, paying off a debt of one billion. Her face is the face of my company, and if you damage her face, it will affect my flourishing business. Mr. Hill, do you still think that her matters are none of my concern?" Theodore spoke calmly.

Nathan was rendered speechless. "Absurd. Young Master Sanchez, don't tell me you don't understand labor law? Even if Isabella signed long-term contract with you, agreeing to work for you her whole life, according to labor law, her working hours should be capped at eight hours a day..."

Before Nathan could finish, Theodore brought out an addendum to the contract. It clearly stated that Isabella voluntarily agreed to work overtime, with overtime pay according to the labor law's double compensation. The document also included Isabella's signature and thumbprint.

Theodore carefully folded the contract and, with a smile, glanced at Nathan. "Mr. Hill, if you wish to redeem your wife from this contract, then you'll have to pay me ten times the agreed penalty fee."

Nathan's face turned white with anger. He glared at Isabella with frustration. "Fool! I already warned you, doing business with him means you're bound to lose!"

Isabella was stunned by Theodore's meticulous planning and flawless calculation. Truly, he was the heir to the Sanchez family.

She wasn't panicked at all. Instead, she looked at Nathan with mocking eyes. "Nathan, either you pay to redeem me, or divorce me. I'll handle my debts without dragging you into it." Nathan's expression darkened further.

Isabella saw a flicker of uncertainty in his eyes, and she couldn't help but feel that he was considering the option of abandoning her as a burden.

Theodore said coldly, "Isabella, today marks the first day of your 'work.' Come with me."

Isabella followed Theodore, leaving the Gu residence.

After Isabella left, Nathan slumped onto the sofa.

Victoria comforted him, "Nathan, my Sis is with Theodore now, and if she gets caught up in his schemes, her debts will only grow. It could end up dragging down the Hill family." Nathan snorted. "How could I sit back and do nothing?"

Victoria, following his thoughts, said, "Why don't you just divorce Bella?"

Nathan fell into a heavy silence. A look of regret flashed across his eagle eyes.

Ret

When he had bid for the "Circle City" earlier, he had only been thinking of either winning the bid to give the heart-shaped lock to Victoria as a gift or raising the price to drain Theodore's cash reserves. He never imagined that Theodore would turn the tables on him. Now, Theodore was using Isabella's naivety to put him in a tight spot.

He only had two options: either pay the exorbitant penalty of one hundred billion yuan to compensate for Isabella's breach of contract, or divorce her and protect himself.

"Theodore really played this beautifully," Nathan muttered, genuinely admiring Theodore's strategy.

Victoria, eager to flatter, said, "Nathan, Theodore may be young, but how could he be your match? It's just that Isabella is holding you back..."

Mentioning Isabella caused Nathan's expression to darken once more.

"Isabella, you forced me into this."

Victoria's eyes lit up with delight.

Meanwhile, Isabella sat in Theodore's car, her face grim and her eyes distant as she gazed out of the window. Theodore's hand gently touched her swollen cheek. His voice, filled with warmth and concern, spoke softly, "Sis, I'm sorry I'm late. You've suffered."
