The sunlight reflected on her backside, she was still sleeping. Percy had gone bright and early for a morning meeting across town with our security team. "I can get a taxi," Her words made me hate myself for needing to do anything but spend a lazy morning with her in bed, but Ella needed us and I'm sure if Jacqueline knows the truth she'd slapped my head and told me to get going. "Nope, I'll drop you off. We'll take care of you, Jacqueline." My chest felt heavy when I noticed her light shudder in my arms the moment I pull her into a hug. There was a strange want in me to protect her at all cost, and that's when I cleared my throat and stepped back from her.

I know she was trying to assure me otherwise and I put my big boy smile then nodded as I rest my hand on the small of her back to usher her out of the penthouse.

"I know that look, what happened with Jacqueline?"

"Just make sure to keep Jacqueline out of this, Gemma entangled in the situation is bad enough," I muttered and Percy nodded in agreement.

The rest of the day went by fast, we decided to keep in contact with Jacqueline and postponed our date. We need to focus on our sister. We will worry about Jacqueline later.
