Secret Scion

Chapter 175 -

"You're making things up!" Selena said in a harsh tone. "Asher, I have limits to my patience. I hope you won't cross the line. Now that Sebastian and Rose are engaged, if you continue on with your rhetoric, I'll make sure that you regret every bit of it!"

"The angrier you become, the closer I am to the truth," Asher was not angered at all. Instead, he slowly walked toward Selena. An autumn breeze blew, and Selena's scent drifted into the winds. Selena frowned as she carefully studied Asher. She was worried that he was going to go berserk. Only when Asher was standing right in front of her did he suddenly smile. Selena was at her limits as Asher then said, "Let me remind you something. Love can be born out of hate. If you hate me that much, be careful. You might end up loving me instead."

Whoosh!

Selena's face blushed in an instant, and she looked like a blazing rose, sexy and seductive. However, Selena fully believed that the reason she was blushing was not because she was caught red-handed. "I would rather remain unmarried forever," she snorted icily before leaving. Meanwhile, Rose, who was hiding behind a wall, was shocked beyond belief. The person that Sebastian loved was Selena all along?

Rose was completely caught by surprise by what she had just heard. She stood petrified for a very long time as the word "impossible" echoed within her mind.

Asher turned to look in the direction of the wall as he lit up a cigarette. He did it intentionally, hoping to get Sebastian in trouble with his soon-to-be wife.

In the afternoon, Sebastian asked Jeremiah to go to Sky Bar to book it for the entire night.

Only when Asher arrived at the Sky Bar in the evening did he realize that Sebastian had booked the entire place. When he entered, the entire bar was somewhat empty. Only a few scantily-clad women were dancing at the dance floor

"Why did Sebastian book the entire bar?" Layla asked Asher in a whisper as she approached him. Asher knew why after thinking about it for just a moment. Sebastian must have already found out that this place belonged to Hunter. Asher hoped that Hunter would not do anything rash. It was at this time Hunter walked over and said respectfully, "Master Crawford, Ms. Knight. Are these people your friends?"

Layla nodded.

Huxley walked over and said in a hostile tone, "Why do I see you everywhere, Asher? You come along when others invite you just like that? Do you think you're still the Crawfords' heir? Stop embarrassing yourself and get lost!"

During the engagement party in the afternoon, Asher splashed Huxley with a glass of wine. There were a lot of people present then, so Huxley did not do anything to Asher. However, the ire within him grew and grew.

He was already the heir to the Crawford household. Meanwhile, Asher was simply an exile, cast away by the same household. He had no right to be so arrogant in front of him.

Since Asher was not going to show him any sort of courtesy, Huxley was not going to show him any either.

Huxley's followers were all from the fringes of their social strata. They were in between first and second class. However, as Huxley was the heir of the Crawfords, they treated him like he was their patron.

Each of them had cigarettes in their hands as they looked at Asher condescendingly.

"Who are you?" Hunter stared at Huxley coldly. Since he had already chosen to follow Asher, regardless of whether Asher had risen to the top of the world or fallen to the bottom of the abyss, he would remain by his side.

Huxley glanced at Hunter. He then looked at Asher and said, "A hound owned by a

disappointment is baring its fangs at me? How dare you shout at me? I'll let you know that I can have this bar shut down whenever I want!"

When Hunter heard what Huxley had to say, he gritted his teeth and said, "If you don't like it here, please leave. If you're going to humiliate Master Crawford, I won't hold myself back!" "Ha! What a loyal hound. Do you even know who you're talking to?" Huxley smirked frigidly as his followers laughed boisterously.

Hunter then answered, "I don't care who you are. Master Crawford's enemy is my enemy." "Fuck!" Huxley cursed out loud.

It was at this time Layla stepped in, "Enough, Huxley. Both of you are still related by blood, so stop making a fool of yourselves."

If Solomon did not tell her that she could not let anyone know the truth, Layla would have already berated Huxley.

"Cousin, I didn't think that you were still so protective of him. Have you forgotten what he did to you? Or do you secretly wish that he had gone through with it?" When Huxley heard what Layla had to say, he became even more enraged. Why would everyone respect Asher when he was the heir? But when it was his turn, everyone looked down on him instead?

"What are you talking about, Huxley?" Layla's face instantly flushed red. She felt somewhat anxious for some reason, as if a secret within her had been revealed.

Plenty of people nearby realized what was happening. At the same time, Griffin was sitting in a corner. Next to him was the Lanes. They were all looking in Asher's direction.

Maggie picked up her wine glass and took a sip before exclaiming, "Why does it feel as if Layla doesn't hate Asher at all?"

When Annette heard what Maggie said, she shifted her attention back to their table before peeking at Griffin, saying, "Even if Asher did something wrong, he has already paid a heavy price for it. They're cousins after all. Maybe that's why she has forgiven Asher?"

Maggie put down her glass and then said, "But I have a feeling that Asher would never do something like that."

With that, the two women exchanged a glance.

Griffin said nothing during their entire conversation as if he did not care at all. "Sebastian, Huxley and Asher are starting a fight. Even though Asher has been exiled by the Crawfords, he still has his pride. Huxley must have a lot of pent-up anger against him. The two of them are sure to become enemies," Jeremiah walked over to Sebastian and whispered to him. When Rose caught the conversation, she instinctively looked at Asher. She could see that the two Crawfords were looking at each other with cold eyes. Especially Huxley. It was so obvious that he was becoming furious.

As everyone was simply watching the drama unfold, Sebastian was paying attention to Asher and Huxley's relationship. If what happened last time was just a strategy that Solomon had devised, then all of them must have taken masterclasses in acting to be able to make such a complex drama work.

Sebastian scrutinized Asher and Huxley's facial expressions carefully. He did not miss even the smallest of twitches in their eyes. In the end, however, Sebastian did not find any inconsistencies. In other words, they were not acting.

Had Solomon really cast Asher out of the Crawfords?

"Forget about them. Let them fight," Sebastian said with a faint smile. He then turned his attention toward Hunter. "That man is very loyal to Asher."

Rose chipped in at this time, "His name is Hunter Larson. He's the boss of Rollinsford's criminal underground. Asher was the one that helped him initially, and only then did he manage to seize control. He swore loyalty to Asher after that."

"What a good dog," Sebastian commented.

As Asher and Huxley were at each other's throats, Layla could do nothing other than giving them nervous scowls.

Hunter then said, "Master Crawford, should I get rid of those who you don't want to see?" When Huxley heard what Hunter said, he immediately lost control of his emotions and kicked at Hunter's stomach before pointing at him and yelling angrily, "I dare you to fucking touch me!" Seeing that Hunter was attacked, Peter and the others immediately surrounded them. They all glared at Huxley and his followers eagerly, hoping to get into a fight.

Only then did Sebastian say to Jeremiah, "Get rid of Huxley."

"Huxley? Not Asher?" Jeremiah looked at Sebastian, confused.

Sebastian then explained, "Huxley is simply a fraud on a victory march. I've never cared for people like him. The Crawfords are destined to fall from greatness if Solomon has someone like him as the heir. Get rid of him. He's giving me a headache."

"Sure. I'll do that."

Jeremiah then took a few people with him and quickly went over saying, "Huxley, what's going on? Today is Sebastian's engagement. Are you trying to disrespect him by messing things up today?"

When Huxley saw Jeremiah, he quickly gave him a bright smile and said, "Oh, you've misunderstood me. I simply think that someone like Asher is not qualified to be in a place like this. He's already been exiled, meaning he has no right to join a party like this." When Layla heard what Huxley said, she could only clench her teeth in rage. In the past, she felt that Huxley was a good person. However, ever since he became the heir, he started showing his true self; vengeful and petty. Someone like him was not worthy of becoming the heir of the Crawfords.

Asher said nothing and simply left.

Jeremiah quickly said, "Asher, wait. Sebastian said that you can stay, but Huxley has to leave." When Huxley heard that, he frowned and asked, "What did you say, Jeremiah?"

"I said, get out of here, you fraud! You'll just affect everyone's mood here," Jeremiah sneered at Huxley. "What? Do you want us to do it ourselves?"

Huxley's face was burning red as he felt his anger rage on. He was no better than an exile? It was such a humiliation!

Huxley clenched his teeth and said, "Fine, I'll go. But all of you better remember this! You'll all regret it!" Huxley then pushed Asher aside as he walked out in anger.
