Chapter 623
Matthew rummaged through the garage and finally found a trolley.
Lucy had insisted on buying it back then, saying it would make moving clothes and furniture easier. After using it once, it had been left to gather dust in the garage.
After pushing the trolley next to the car, Matthew pinched his nose with one hand and dragged Koven's limp body onto the trolley with the other. Koven flopped into the trolley like a ragdoll.
Matthew then opened the other door, grabbed Hudson by the ankles, and hauled him out. He dumped Hudson on top of Koven.
He took out his phone and recorded a video of the vomit-covered interior of his car and the two men huddled in the trolley as evidence. Satisfied with his work, he pocketed his phone and started pushing the trolley toward his house.
Just as he was about to push them upstairs, he remembered something.
The trolley made a lot of noise as it clattered up the steps, but Matthew had no other choice. He gritted his teeth and continued moving them inside.
Meanwhile, Lucy was awakened by the commotion outside. She squinted her eyes and noticed that Matthew was not beside her. Curious, she went downstairs to see what was happening.
After turning on the lights and rubbing her eyes, she saw Matthew pushing two indiscernible objects with a trolley. She blinked to clear her vision and realized that it was two people?!
Frightened by Matthew, Lucy pointed at him and exclaimed, "D-Did you kill someone?"
Taken aback by her accusation, Matthew looked at his wife with exasperation. "Lulu, take a closer look. It's Hudson and Koven. They got drunk and called me to pick them up, but they ended up vomiting all over my car, and now they're completely out of it." Hearing this, Lucy calmed down and walked over to Matthew.
"Oh my, did they really throw up? It stinks!" Lucy pinched her nose and fanned the air in front of her.
"Hudson told me that he went to pick up Koven, but he ended up getting drunk too. No one was willing to take them home, so they called me to pick them up and ended up vomiting in my caro
"Hudson is clean, but Koven has vomited all over himself. I had no choice but to use the trolley to bring them up." Matthew's eyes were full of disdain as he explained.
"I'll go tidy up the guest room, then. It's been a while since anyone stayed there, so I'll change the bedsheets," said Lucy before heading to the guest room.
Overwhelmed by the smell, Matthew walked around the two drunk men and sat on the couch, where he lit a cigarette.
After a while, Lucy finished tidying up and came back. "Matt, the guest room is ready. Let's figure out how to get them up there."
Matthew nodded and pushed the trolley to the elevator, taking them up to the guest room on the second floor.
Just as Matthew was about to toss them onto the bed, Lucy said, "Maybe you should give them a bath so that they'll feel more comfortable."
Matthew looked at Lucy, then at the two men lying in the trolley. He immediately shook his head.
"No need. Just let them lie on the bed. They can wash up themselves in the morning."
Lucy reluctantly agreed, and she watched Matthew unceremoniously dump them onto the bed from the trolley.
Lucy added a futon bed when she initially designed the guest room, which turned out to come in handy Seeing the two men sprawled on the bed, both Lucy and Matthew sighed deeply before heading back to the master bedroom.
