Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life

Chapter 1162

The woman was left speechless, realizing deep down that the words hit a nerve. Her face shifted from pale to flushed, and she stamped her foot in frustration, deciding it was best to stay quiet. They had been whispering on purpose, but Flora still caught every word. It amused her a little.

she might as well play the part.

Honestly, she didn't even want to be at this test. She was just worried about Selene and the others, fearing they might run into trouble. Hmm. She was eager to wrap things up and head back to Connor. Since they were already accusing her of pulling strings, she figured She strolled over casually. "Hey, senior."

The group was taken aback by her approach, worried that Flora had overheard them.

"Uh, Flora, need something?"

"Senior, do you really think there's any point in continuing our search here?" Flora asked, flashing a smile.

"Flora, what do you mean by that?" the senior sister snapped. "We're just here to keep you safe, not to answer your questions!"

"Sorry, senior sister, but it looks like you're not quite up to protecting me," Flora said with a confident grin. "Besides, I wasn't asking you, so maybe don't jump in."

The senior sister's face went pale!

Flora turned to the senior brother, "Well?"

"N-no, I don't think there's anything left..." he stammered, swallowing hard.

"Okay then." Flora nodded and turned to call out to Selene, who was perched in a tree, "Selene, let's roll. There's nothing here."

Selene hopped down in a flash.

Luiz and the others quietly packed up their gear and moved on to another spot. If Flora hadn't asked, they would've been stuck searching there for another half-hour. The senior brother thought, "So you asked me just for that? Should I just hand you a map with everything marked?"

"Why aren't you doing anything about this?" the senior sister fumed.

The senior brother rubbed his forehead, knowing the situation was ridiculous, but the higher-ups clearly favored Flora. As students, they couldn't do much. "You've been chatty today," he said, glancing at the senior sister. "Jealous of her, maybe?"

He was feeling a bit envious himself.

The senior sister's face turned a mix of green and red, and she stormed off in a huff. Going up against Flora was out of her depth. But Flora hadn't shown any respect earlier, either.

Her focus shifted to Luiz and the others.

...

Meanwhile, in the executive office of the medical research facility, the top brass were all gathered. Connor sat at the head, his presence commanding the room.

"Mr. Connor, are you saying there's a bomb in our facility?"

The executives exchanged shocked

glances. Someone had managed to plant a bomb right under their noses. It was a good thing Connor had warned them; otherwise, the fallout could've been disastrous.

"That's right. Plus, there's a gas called SK-612 in the air," Connor explained.

Flora had identified the gas back at the lab, and thankfully, it hadn't yet posed a major threat to humans.

Connor raised his hand, and his associates, Moss and Beck, handed out the reports to the executives They eagerly reviewed the findings, their faces growing more serious by the second.
