Can't Win Me Back (Isabella and Nathan)

Chapter 55

Theodore's playful disregard for everything successfully stirred the blood of Nathan, prompting him to charge ahead. "Why stop? A mere billion-Nathan can afford that." Nathan bid: "One billion and one million."

Theodore flashed a clever smile and directly addressed the host. "I bid five billion."

Nathan was stunned.

"I withdraw from the bidding."

He sank into his seat, defeated.

Isabella was somewhat surprised. After all, in her past life, Nathan had been lured into a bidding frenzy by Theodore's provocation. He followed all the way to ten billion, only for Theodore to suddenly stop.

Although Nathan had obtained the "City of Reincarnation," the ten billion in cash flow nearly drained all of his liquid assets. This caused him to lose his competitive edge when Theodore later contested his projects, unable to mobilize enough funds, making him easy prey for Theodore.

Nathan's empire crumbled, falling apart like a house of cards. His glory was fleeting.

But in this life, why had the outcome been reversed?

Theodore suddenly raised his bid by five times, but Nathan wisely stopped pursuing it.

Isabella winced, watching Theodore with a look of pain. The "City of Reincarnation" was undoubtedly important, but spending five billion just to secure it was an unwise move on Theodore's part. She couldn't understand why he was so stubborn about the item. As she pondered, Theodore took the stage to collect his prize, a satisfied smile on his face.

However, the young master of the Sanchez family was not pleased with his extravagant spending. With a sarcastic tone, he mocked Theodore, "Theodore, you spent all that money on this piece of junk? Grandpa will probably have a heart attack when he hears about this!" Theodore glanced at him coldly. "I spent my mother's inheritance. Do you have a problem with that?"

Guillermo was left speechless.

It was well-known that Theodore's mother was the legitimate daughter of the prestigious Si family. She was talented and accomplished, but tragically passed away at a young age. However, before her death, she had amassed a large fortune, which was all passed on to her son after her death.

Thanks to this inheritance, Theodore became a target for many at a young age. After her passing, the number of people who could stake a claim to her estate was countless. Theodore's biological father and his stepbrother, born from his father's remarriage, were the largest beneficiaries. Even uncles, aunts, and cousins from the Brown family had a share in it.

The flow of this inheritance was closely scrutinized, and Theodore's every move was watched by many.

The eldest young master of the Sanchez family expressed his displeasure, "You spent five billion on a broken lock? If your mother knew how you were wasting her inheritance, she'd be turning in her grave."

Theodore shot him a cold look. "Guillermo, my personal affairs are none of your business."

Guillermo, realizing he had overstepped, closed his mouth in frustration.

After the auction ended, Victoria walked out with a gloomy expression, her eyes red from crying.

Meanwhile, Isabella also appeared deep in thought.

Nathan, noticing their disheartened faces, walked over to Victoria and comforted her, "If you really like that lock, I'll find a way to get it from Young Master Sanchez in the future. Don't be upset." Victoria, reassured by his words, immediately smiled through her tears.

"Nathan, you must help me get it."

Isabella stared expressionlessly at the two of them. While Nathan comforted Victoria, no one seemed to notice the bitterness in her own heart.

At some point, Theodore emerged and stood before Isabella, his tall, slender figure making it impossible for her to ignore him, even if she tried.

She finally forced a pale smile and said, "Young Master Sanchez, congratulations on getting what you wanted."

Theodore raised the "City of Reincarnation" with a knowing look. "This thing? It's not what I wanted, but rather my Sis's wish. She likes it, so I bought it for her."

Guillermo, following closely behind, sneered, "When did you get a Sis, Theodore?"

Theodore smiled and looked at Isabella.

In an instant, Isabella understood the real reason Theodore had bought the "City of Reincarnation."

Her eyes widened in shock. He had spent so much money on something so valuable, just for her?

But she couldn't accept this gift without reason.

"Young Master Sanchez, this necklace means a great deal to me. I would like to buy it from you. Of course, I can't afford it right now, but I am willing to write an IOU and repay you for it over my lifetime." Isabella didn't want to owe Theodore any favors.

To her surprise, Theodore gave her a sly wink and said, "Isabella, since you want the necklace, come find me at my company sometime, and we can make a deal."

Isabella nodded eagerly.

However, Nathan stepped in, suddenly standing between them, taking matters into his own hands and rejecting Theodore's offer on Isabella's behalf. "Young Master Sanchez, my wife doesn't know how to do business. If you want to transfer the lock, I can negotiate a deal with you." Content bélongs to FindNovel

He added, "I hear you're quite interested in that plot of land in the eastern district?"

The land in the eastern district was a highly sought-after project. Many prominent companies from the capital had previously bid for it, bot in the end, it was acquired by the Hill family. However, the Hill family had left it undeveloped for two years.

Now that the eastern district was thriving, the value of the land had skyrocketed, multiplying several times over.

Using this land as bait was an incredibly tempting offer for any businessman.

Isabella felt an uneasy feeling rising in her chest. Business people never passed up on profit, and she was genuinely worried that Theodore might succumb to the temptation and transfer the "Lock of Hearts" to Nathan. She even shook her head in a silent plea to stop him from agreeing to the deal.

On the side, Victoria eagerly added fuel to the fire, "Young Master Sanchez, if Mr. Hill offers you a partnership in the eastern district project, you'll make a fortune. Don't miss out on this opportunity. It's a once-in-a-lifetime chance." Theodore furrowed his brow.

He found Victoria's patronizing tone repulsive.

Looking down at her from his height, he sneered, "Mr. Hill wants the lock so badly, just for Miss Victoria, doesn't he?"

Nathan didn't respond. After all, both Siss, Victoria and Isabella, wanted the necklace. But if he gave it to Victoria, it would upset his wife, Isabella. No matter how you looked at it, it seemed like typical scumbag behavior. His silence, however, was an implicit admission.

Theodore's tone shifted. "I'm sorry, but I have no interest in that plot of land in the eastern district. So, Mr. Hill, I choose to make a deal with Miss Isabella."

Nathan was left dumbfounded. "Why?"

He couldn't understand what could Theodore possibly gain by doing business with Isabella?

Theodore leaned in closer to Nathan. "Mr. Hill, women are easy to deceive."

Nathan couldn't catch the subtlety in Theodore's words. He remained stern and tried to persuade him,

"Young Master Sanchez, though

Isabella is my wife, the Hill faminet

won't invest a single penny on her business dealings. If you think you can get the Hill family's wealth through her, you'd better forget it."
