Chapter 52
Nathan dismissed Moore's father and mother with a few words, then slowly walked into the house. As he passed by Isabella's room, he didn't ignore it as he usually did, but instead paused at the door. He stood there, dazed for a moment, his thoughts in disarray. He tried to figure out why Isabella had become so cold, heartless, and cruel, but none of the reasons seemed convincing enough.
How did she end up like this?
Unable to resist, Nathan raised his hand and knocked on the door. After knocking for a while, there was no response. His face darkened. "Isabella, I know you're inside. Open the door. I need to talk to you." A cold, harsh voice came from inside. "I want to rest. Let's talk tomorrow."
Her tone was indifferent, even slightly impatient.
Nathan was stunned. In the past, whenever he approached Isabella, she would jump up in joy. But now, when he approached her, she seemed to despise him-just like he had once done to her.
Nathan's face turned serious, and he softened his tone. "Isabella, your Sis's condition is very serious. You should be with your parents to help her through this difficult time. That's what a family should do..." Before he could finish, Isabella's angry voice cut him off. "Get out."
Nathan's face darkened, but he continued to lecture. "Your father and mother made many mistakes when you were young. But after all these years, at least your father and Sis have been kind to you... you should be more forgiving."
The bedroom door suddenly swung open, and Isabella glared at him with eyes full of fury. "Nathan, I'm not some saint. On the contrary, I'm someone who holds grudges, especially grudges... I will never forgive them in this life. And if there's a next life, I still won't forgive them."
Nathan's handsome face turned pale, and he trembled slightly. The vengeful Isabella made him uneasy. For some reason, his thoughts went to the time when he had taken one of her kidneys. Compared to the way Qiao's parents treated her, he didn't seem much better. Could it be that Isabella would never forgive him too?
Nathan said, "Isabella, everyone makes mistakes..."
Isabella poured cold water on him, saying, "Nathan, you're just like them. You're all the same ungrateful, despicable people who cross the bridge and then burn it."
Nathan's face became as tense as if he were constipated, mortified beyond belief.
Suddenly, Isabella slammed the door shut with great force, making a loud sound that startled Nathan. He left with a heavy heart, feeling an inexplicable discomfort in his chest.
Back in his bedroom, he slumped down on the couch, distracted and weary. Suddenly, his phone rang. He pulled it out and swiped to open it. A photo from Victoria appeared on the screen: it was of an old-fashioned pocket watch, engraved with Sanskrit characters. Below the photo, Victoria had sent a brief description:
**Pocket Watch Name:** The City of Cycles
**Origin:** An ancient burial artifact from a king's tomb, exact year of excavation unknown.
**Value:** It is rumored that *The City of Cycles* was the token of love between a mysterious king and queen. If one opens the pocket watch, they can learn about the past and present lives of their loved one.
**Opening method:** Unknown.

Nathan looked at the pocket watch with little interest. His expression was one of indifference. However, his phone buzzed again with a message from Victoria: "Nathan, I want it."
At the moment, Nathan was feeling financially strained, but when it came to Victoria's request, he readily agreed. "I'll buy it for you."
Victoria sent a satisfied smile emoji: "Nathan, I heard that next week's fashion competition auction will be held at your Hill family's Galdon Hotel, and *The City of Cycles* is one of the auction items. You must try to secure it for me."
"Don't worry, I'll make sure to get it for you."
When the fashion competition auction was held, something miraculous happened-Victoria's illness was suddenly cured. As Nathan and Victoria entered the auction venue, Nathan spotted Isabella sitting in the front row.
He was taken aback. How could the person he had once considered useless and incompetent afford a front-row seat at such an event? Furthermore, the seats next to hers were occupied by the famous young masters from the Sanchez and the Brown families.
Theodore and Quinn were cousins.
Despite their youth, both were
known for their extraordinary looks and near genius intelligence. Raised by wealthy families, they were both exceptional talents in the business world. They were regarded as young elites.
Isabella, sitting between them, looked unremarkable in comparison.
"Nathan, my Sis must have used your influence to get that prominent seat. She really doesn't know how to behave," Victoria commented, voicing Nathan's thoughts.
Nathan's face darkened. He had warned Isabella several times not to use his name to gain attention, but it seemed she had completely ignored his warnings. He was determined to teach her a lesson when the time came.
What Nathan didn't know was that with Isabella's positioning in the fashion industry, her front-row seat was well-deserved.
At that moment, a receptionist approached them, smiling brightly as she addressed Victoria and Nathan. "Miss Moore, Young Master Hill, you are key invitees to this fashion competition auction. We've reserved seats for you. Please follow me." Victoria had made a name for herself in the fashion industry and had earned her own place in the circle. She was satisfied with the seat reserved for her, which was in the third row on the left.
After all, she had earned it with her own talent, unlike Isabella, who had probably used a man's influence to secure her position.
However, Nathan was puzzled. As
someone of his status, capable of giving others a boost, why was he seated in the second row on the
et?
This seemed almost like an attempt
to marginalize him, especially
compared to his status as heir to the
Hill family.
Though Nathan wasn't upset, Victoria immediately voiced her dissatisfaction. "Why are Isabella and Theodore sitting in the front row, while we're stuck behind them?"
Nathan listened attentively as the
receptionist explained, "Miss, the people sitting in the front rows are either major figures in the fashion industry or sponsors of this auction. The seating arrangement is decided by the higher-ups. If you have concerns about your seat, please speak to the organizers."
Victoria fell silent. Given her own standing in the industry, being seated in the third row was already a generous gesture.
She shot a resentful glance at Isabella. "Nathan, Isabella must have spent a fortune to get that spot."
Nathan, still puzzled, couldn't understand. "Where would she get the money to sponsor this auction?"
As soon as he sat down, Nathan couldn't wait to pull out his phone and send Isabella a message: "Isabella, what are you doing here? This is not a place for you."
