Chapter 104
As the footsteps approached the door of the ward, Theo suddenly raised his voice and said, "I really don't understand. You are not as beautiful as my sister Theodore, and your manners are so vulgar. How can my sister Theodore be elegant? The prince must be blind to consider gravel as a treasure."
Victoria was an outstanding girl from a young age, and she couldn't accept a worthless person who she had stepped on to turn the tables. She angrily retorted to Theo, "Mr. Sanchez, you don't understand me and Isabella at all. You are not qualified to judge us."
Theo casually said, "There's no need to understand, anyone with a pair of eyes can see it: my sister Thea, her naturally beautiful face is much more attractive than your plastic surgery zombie face; her temperament is much more gentle and kind than yours... Do you think your dad favors you, Nathan favors you, because you are truly better than my sister Thea? No, it's because they are blind. And..."
Theo's beautiful pupils emitted a bewitching light, fooling their prey. "And Nathan and your father's eyes will eventually be cured, and then they will be in excruciating pain - condemning themselves for their previous blindness..."
"It's impossible," Victoria shouted in despair.
She immediately realized her inappropriate behavior, so she calmed herself down and proudly said, "Both my father and my husband are the people in this world who love me unconditionally. This love will never change."
Theo smirked and said, "I'll be waiting for you to get slapped in the face."
Outside the ward, Thea's expression was somewhat indescribable.
When she heard Theo calling her "Theodore," she almost got goosebumps.
But unexpectedly, he didn't feel offended.
The door of the ward suddenly opened, and Thea walked in carrying a food tray.
Theo pouted at Thea, saying, "Sister, why did you come so late? I was so hungry that I had no energy left. You must come earlier tomorrow."
Otherwise, he would be so bored.
Thea rubbed his head and gently smiled, teasingly saying, "If you don't have the strength, just shut your mouth. Say a few less words."
Victoria stared in astonishment, as the gazes between Theo and Thea exchanged, overflowing with genuine affection. Especially Theo's look towards Thea, where a myriad of love transformed into tender gestures.
She was so embarrassed that she couldn't hold her head up high. She arrogantly thought that Thea was just a dispensable tool for Theo, and even attempted to make Theo stand against Thea to support her... How ridiculous.
"Mr. Sanchez, you are still young and do not understand the cruelty of business battles. I was the young lady of the Hill family. If you offend me, you will have one more formidable enemy on your future business path..." She was ultimately unwilling, unwilling to completely lose to Thea in Theo's eyes. So she tried to turn the tide.
Little did Theo know, he didn't even lift his eyes, still gazing at Thea with tender affection. In front of Theo, Thea dressed extremely casually, wearing a white T-shirt paired with a black pleated skirt, adorned with simple jewelry. Yet, it was this black and white combination that made her skin as fair as snow, enhancing her picturesque features without a trace of dust. Theo was left stunned.
Thea focusedly took out the dishes from the food box one by one. They were all light dishes, such as mung bean porridge, garlic stir-fried water bamboo shoots, shredded pork in sauce... all of them were common home-cooked dishes for ordinary people.
Theo frowned, although he was injured, he still loved heavy and meaty dishes.
Victoria took the opportunity to intervene, "Bella, why did you serve Mr. Sanchez such inferior food? You really didn't put any effort into it."
Thea said lightly, "He had injuries on his body and could only eat light food."
"But Mr. Sanchez seemed to not like it, right?"
"If he doesn't love to eat, then let him go hungry," Thea said with a stern face.
Theo's furrowed brow instantly relaxed, and he glared fiercely at Victoria, saying, "Don't talk nonsense. I like whatever dishes my sister makes."
Then, he apologized to Thea in a pleasing manner, "Sister, she was just jealous because she saw how well you treat me. She deliberately tried to sow discord between us siblings. Please don't fall for it. I love the food that you cook the most."
Then he started eating like a whirlwind.
Victoria was dumbfounded by Theo's accommodation, flattery, and dependence on Thea.
She looked at Thea suspiciously, with an inexplicable flame of jealousy burning in her eyes. She felt unwillingness in her heart, as Thea had found a support even more precious than her own man, Mr. Sanchez.
And Mr. Sanchez, was completely devoted to Thea.
Theo glanced at her and said, "Ms. Moore, I know you came here to plead for your father. However, I cannot make the decision on this matter. You should ask my sister Thea for your request."
Victoria looked at Thea in astonishment.
Thea, on the other hand, didn't even look at her, as if she was such an insignificant ant not worth wasting even a bit of her energy on.
Victoria felt her body go weak. She realized that in order to save her father, she would not have to
confront Mr. Sanchez, who had no grudge against her, but rather Thea, who harbored a deep hatred towards him.
Thea was bluntly honest, saying, "Asking me won't help."
Theo laughed and said, "That's right.
If he had stabbed you with a knife, not only would I have sent him to jail, but I would have also found a few more people to take care of him, making sure he suffers for the rest of his miserable life, with no hope of ever getting out."
Victoria felt her blood turn cold, and her body froze slowly.
However, she seemed to have understood some clues. "So, Mr. Sanchez, what my father really wanted to
teach a lesson to was my sister, he didn't mean to hurt you, right..."
The sentencing decisions for intentional harm and unintentional stabbing can vary greatly. One is a criminal offense, while the other could potentially be resolved through private compensation.
Theo ate his meal gracefully, while
casually saying, "If his knife was aimed at me, maybe I could forgive him generously. But he chose to
stab the vulnerable Thea, so I had no choice but to lock him up.
Otherwise, if I let him stay outside, my dear Thea's life would
in
constant danger, and I would have to live in constant fear for her. How terrifying would that be?"
Victoria looked at Theo, then at Thea, shaking her head desperately. "Mr. Sanchez, why do you protect Thea so much? She's just a beggar who came out of the slums."
Theo's choking motion instantly halted, and when his sinister gaze turned towards Victoria, she felt a chill run through her body.
"Ms. Moore, what qualifications does she have to look down on my family's Thea?"
"She, although not very good, managed to turn a bad hand into a good one. Unlike someone, who played a natural royal flush poorly."
"Ms. Moore, thirty years have passed, and fortunes have changed. Perhaps one day, the person begging on the streets could be you."
Even though he was not yet 19 years old, the gloomy aura surrounding him seemed to engulf the entire world, as if everything was under his control.
Such a powerful aura, even Prince Nathan couldn't compare.
Victoria felt terrified and stumbled as she fled.
