300 Days With The Alpha Beta Triplets

Chapter GET HER HERE

Third person pov:

Evelyn made her way to her office as usual, keeping her face stern, the expression that commanded respect from the students. She strutted confidently down the hallway, nodding politely as students greeted her, though her smile barely touched her eyes. It wasn't until she reached the corner by her office that she allowed herself a moment of relief, exhaling deeply as the tension in her shoulders eased.

Once at her office door, she rummaged through her bag, retrieving her keys. As she inserted the key into the lock, a familiar voice called out behind her.

"Good morning, Principal Evelyn."

Evelyn spun around, her stern demeanor softening instantly.

It was Hazel, her daughter's best friend and the brightest student Howlstone had seen in two years. Seeing Hazel brought a small sense of comfort, but she quickly reminded herself of her resolve. She couldn't let Hazel visit Bella.

"Hazel, if this is about Bella, I'm sorry, but I've made up my mind. You can't see her, and-"

"It's not about that," Hazel interrupted.

Evelyn's grip tightened on the door handle as she looked at Hazel, noticing the flicker of fear in the girl's eyes. "Well, it is about Bella, but something different."

Evelyn's stomach knotted, and she swallowed hard, her nerves on edge. "What do you mean?"

"I know about her... about her two-sided nature," Hazel said quietly, her voice trembling.

Evelyn's heart skipped a beat.

"Why don't you come inside?" she said, her breath labored.

She pushed open the door, leaving space for Hazel to step inside. Following her, Evelyn shut the door softly. Her hands gripped her bag tightly as she fought to steady her breathing.

Once inside, Evelyn leaned against her desk, trying to maintain her composure. "What did you just say?"

"I know Bella is a hybrid," Hazel said in a low tone. "She told me herself."

Evelyn stared at her, dread creeping up her spine.

"I tried to think of her as the same Bella, because I know her," Hazel continued, her voice low and shaky. "But... Principal Evelyn, everyone knows what happened to my parents, and..." Her voice cracked as she choked back tears. She paused, pressing a hand to her face as the tears spilled freely down her cheeks. "I keep having nightmares about her, and I'm afraid it's affecting me. I'm scared my grades will drop because of it. Bella's still my friend, but... I don't think I can share a room with her anymore."

Evelyn felt a wave of sympathy for the girl, her own heart heavy with the conflict. She had no right to force Hazel to live with Bella if it was causing her distress. A part of her simmered with anger toward Bella-anger she was ready to unleash.

"I..... I understand, Hazel," Evelyn said softly, stepping closer and placing a gentle hand on the girl's shoulder. Hazel sniffled, looking up at her with tear-filled eyes.

"Thank you for telling me." Evelyn added.

"Please, don't tell Bella about this conversation. I don't want her to hate me," Hazel pleaded, her voice trembling. Evelyn hesitated for a moment, weighing her decision, before giving a slow nod. "Consider it done," she promised.

Hazel muttered a "thank you" before walking out of the office. Once outside, she quickly pulled out her phone and dialed a number.

"Mission accomplished," she muttered to Fae on the other end.

After school, Evelyn arranged for movers to transfer Bella's belongings to a new room, one she planned to prepare during Bella's suspension. Ryder had just gotten home when he saw a group of men exiting the elevator with boxes in hand. As he stepped out onto his floor, he caught sight of one of Bella's tote bags. Alarm flared within him. Before he could ask the men anything, the elevator doors slid shut. Ryder stood frozen for a moment, confusion swirling through his mind. Then, with a sense of urgency, he rushed toward Hazel's room. There, he found Bella's things piled in front of the door, adding to his confusion.

His heart racing, Ryder sprinted back to their own room.

"Guys!" he called out as he barged through the door. "Do you know Bella's stuff is being moved out of Hazel's room?"

He looked around, only to find the room strangely empty. Panic surged in his chest as he stormed into the twins' room, finding them absorbed in a video game.

With a sigh, Ryder marched over and unplugged the console.

"Way to go, Dad," Kai grumbled, while Finn let out a chuckle. Ryder didn't react.

He repeated his words, and their faces immediately shifted from amusement to concern.

"I saw Hazel talking to Evelyn this morning," Finn recalled, piecing it together.

"We need to tell Bella, and we need to keep an eye on Hazel," Kai declared, already pulling out his phone and dialing Bella's number.

Meanwhile, Bella was deep in her own investigation, snooping around Alpha Fred's house after discovering that her mother's relationship with him hadn't ended after high school, as she had been led to believe. She had found some old photo albums in his study and was flipping through them in her room when her phone buzzed. She picked it up. "Hey, Bella," Kai's voice greeted her.

"How are you?" Finn added. Ryder's voice chimed in as well, the group talking over each other.

Bella raised an eyebrow. "Ryder, did you know our parents were friends after high school? The portrait in your dad's living room completes half of my mom's."

Ryder froze for a second, then took the phone from Kai, his voice dropping. "That's news to me, but we've got bigger problems."

Bella tensed as she listened, her pulse quickening.

"Something's wrong with Hazel," Ryder continued. "We saw Fae and Sebastian leave your room yesterday, and today, your stuff is being moved. Finn saw Hazel with your mom this morning. We think she's been compelled."

Bella's heart sank. The last thing she needed was to lose Hazel. She took a deep breath, trying to push down the anger that was bubbling to the surface. She realized, with a pang of guilt, how they had all neglected Hazel lately, too caught up in their mate bond to notice her friend slipping away.

"Bella, are you still there?" Ryder asked, worry evident in his tone.

"Yes, but-" Bella's response was cut off by a knock at her door. Quickly, she lowered the volume on her phone and shoved the photo album beneath her pillow.

Her mother entered. "The witch will be here this evening," she said. Bella kept her face neutral, even as unease stirred within her. "Have you eaten today?" her mother asked.

Bella nodded silently, waiting for her to mention the room situation, but she didn't. Instead, her mother left her as quickly as she had entered, leaving Bella with more questions.

She returned to the call. "If Hazel's been compelled, bring her to me," Bella said, her voice hardening. "Kidnap her if you have to-just get her here."
