Chapter 58. Ronnie In Pain
Estella was in the kitchen preparing breakfast when a call came in on her phone. She picked up at the second ring. "Yes ma'am," She said, knowing it was her madam, Ronnie, or Katie calling.
Ronnie couldn't recognize her voice when she spoke. It was hoarse and sounded like she swallowed something rough. "Estella," She called
"Madam Katie?" Estella asked, confused at the voice. Not sure it was her madam's.
"Yeah, it's me. Don't mind my voice," She said
"Ok, ma'am. Good morning," She greeted.
"Please get me a warm glass of water, now," She politely requested and hung up.

"Mum, do you have to leave?" Sara asked Mrs. Ayra, who was leaving the mansion.
"Yes, dear. Many things have been God Ng wrong in my company since I left. I don't want the company running down," She replied. "Oh, that's not good news at all," Sara said.
"Yeah, don't worry about Damon. I'll make sure to merge you both. But for now, I have to leave," She replied and made for the door.
Sara accompanies her out to the parking lot. She waited for Mrs. Ayra to go to drive off before heading back into the house. She has blocked by Alan who stood in her way.
"What are you doing?" Sara asked, obviously irritated.
"What does it seem like I'm doing?" He asked back.
"Alan, I don't have time for your troubles this morning. Please get off my sight before I do something we both would regret," she threatened.
"And what would you do? Cry to mummy? Oh, I forgot, mummy is gone now. You're left with no one by your side," Alan mocked her.
"Alan, don't get on my nerves this morning," She said.
Alan smiled mischievously at her. "Let's see how you cope now. With Damon not in a good mood, Katie would strangle you if you go close to her man, and me, not minding if you exist, you'll have no choice but to go back to where you came from," Alan said and without waiting for her reply, shut the door on her face.
"That son of a b*tch," She yelled and stormed into the house and the room.
Estelle knocked on the door to Ronnie's room.
"Come in," Ronnie said, weakly.
Estella heard the weak voice ordering her to come in before proceeding to enter the room. Immediately, she sighted Katie curling up on the bed, she increased her pace. Once she was beside her, she proceeded with her dozen questions.
"What happened? Why are you in a mess? When did it start? Have you taken any medication?" Estella asked all at once.
Even though she was sick, Ronnie couldn't help but smile at the maid's concern.
"Don't worry, it's nothing serious," Ronnie said, although she already covered her legs. She was happy she did because she didn't want to imagine the way she'd freak out of she found out about that. She's already pissed seeing her curl up like this on the bed.
"Have you told the boss? Does he know?" Estella asked.
"Well, I don't think he needs to know just yet," Ronnie replied.
"What are you saying?" Estella ranted.
"I'll tell him, don't worry," Ronnie said
"I'm sorry Miss Katie, If I see him, I'll tell him," Estella said and stretched her hand for the glass of water.
"Here, ma'am," She said, concerned.
Ronnie was glad that there was at least someone in this whole house that cares about her. She didn't want to see Damon, let alone tell him about her health. She just hates him now.
"Ma'am, I'll best be on my way now. I was assisting in making breakfast before you called me," Estella politely said.
"Go ahead. I'll be here," Ronnie assured.
"Should I send your food here or what?" She asked
"Don't worry, I'll come down and eat myself," She said and gave Estella an approving smile.
Ronnie lay on the bed and after a little while, she began feeling hungry. How would she go down with legs so swollen? She decided to stand up and walk a little. She placed her legs on the ground in an attempt to stand up. On her first attempt, once her two feet were on the ground, she stood up and immediately felt a little pain.
"Not bad," She commented and started going toward the door. At that very instant, she felt like her body was on fire, especially her legs. She muffled a scream and her legs gave away. She started falling to the ground and she could hear someone call her name. It was rather odd because she thought she heard Ronnie and not Katie. She was too weak to even try to see who it was. Her eyelids gave away and everything became black. Damon's POV
I wanted to check how she was fairing and if she had woken up. I was standing behind her as she was walking slowly toward the door. She seemed weak but determined. I wanted to help her but ink Ew better than to do that. I couldn't just watch her struggle to go out of the room she couldn't even reach the door. She had barely made it halfway to the door when she started going down, toward the ground.
"Ronnie," I screamed her name before I could think of anything. I rushed to her and took her in my hands. She already blacked out by the time I could get a hold of her.
I gently carried her to the bed and lay her down. She was burning up and I felt alarmed sweep over me. I immediately picked up my phone and dialed my doctor's number. He picked at the first ring.
"Hello, asshole. Why are you calling me this early morning?" He jokingly said.
"Jerry, to my house this moment, it's urgent," I said with alarm.
"Man, what's wrong?" Jerry asked.
I didn't want to reply to him so I hung up. Jerry knew better than to taste my patience. Jerry has been my family's doctor for a long time. It was more like inherited stuff. It was his grandfather to mine, then his father, and now me. I stayed close to her and silently prayed Jarry would arrive early. And in time also.
