Chapter The Second Act 72
Chapter 72
Oneida smiled lightly at him and said, "I'll be fine. Don't worry."
In the end, Edmund could only stay at home with Jennifer.
"Edmund, when did you get so close to her?" With only the two of them left, Jennifer couldn't help but ask, "Why are you so worried about her? She has caused big trouble. Of course, she has to take the responsibility..."
Edmund pursed his lips and said with a deep gaze, "She wouldn't just pick on someone for no reason. There must be some hidden situation."
Jennifer snorted coldly. "Why would you believe her? You even defend her actions. You've only known each other for..."
Before she could finish her words, Edmund walked up to her. His gaze was icy cold; it was like his eyes were coated in frost. "I'm starting to feel like I know nothing about you. I understand that you don't like her, but she is my own sister." After saying that, Edmund walked past Jennifer without looking back.
Jennifer stood frozen in place. Her face darkened with anger.
Her fists clenched.
She wondered whether Oneida had given Edmund some kind of magic potion to make him trust her wholeheartedly.
That was when she realized that she had underestimated Oneida's ability to win people over.
Oneida followed her parents to the manor.
Meanwhile, in the main hall, Hailey sat in the VIP seat with an elegant posture and a slightly impatient look in her eyes.
"Is she here yet?" she asked coldly, glancing at the door.
Nathan immediately replied with a smile, "I just called and asked. She should be here soon."
Hailey sighed and pretended to act helpless. "Nathan, there's nothing I can do. Dad has heard that Michael was being bullied in school, so he has persuaded me to come to demand an explanation. You know he loves his grandson the most..."
"I see." Nathan became increasingly anxious upon hearing that as he was well aware that Tobias was not a man to be crossed. "As an ascendant, he will certainly cherish his descendant..."
While they were talking, they heard footsteps outside the door.
Lucas and Tatiana walked into the main hall.
Oneida followed them from behind.
Hailey immediately stood up with an unkind look. "Where is Oneida?"
Tatiana glanced back and urged in a low voice, "Hurry up."
-Oneida walked into the main hall calmly, looking unperturbed.
"So, you're Oneida?" Hailey squinted her eyes and looked at Oneida with a hint of fierceness in her eyes.
It was that little girl who had sent someone to beat up
her son.
Upon thinking of Michael's pitiful appearance, Hailey's face grew colder and darker.

"Mr. Tobias Lindt has said that he wants to teach you a lesson for your parents." Hailey raised her chin slightly and displayed a slight arrogance. "Teach Oneida a lesson?" Upon hearing that statement, Lucas, Tatiana, Nathan, and Hazel felt humiliated as if they had been slapped in the face.
They couldn't believe that their own child would have to be disciplined by someone else.
But even if they felt uncomfortable, they could do nothing.
The Lindt family was powerful and influential. Naturally, they would not dare to openly defy them.
Lucas couldn't hold it any longer and said, "I don't think that's a good idea... If Ida really did something wrong, I'll make her apologize to you. We'll educate her when we go
back..."
"That's not what I mean." Hailey lowered her head and gazed lightly at the expensive ring on her hand. She then continued in an arrogant tone, "Mr. Lindt has always been a tough-minded man. He insists on meeting Oneida. If I don't bring her to him, he'll probably come and ask for her himself..."
Upon hearing that, everyone's expression became even more dismal.
Tobias was a dreadful guy to deal with!

If he came in person, it'd be even harder for them to handle him.
Tatiana was the first to compromise. "Bring her home with you then. She needs to be taught a lesson."
