The Man in Power After Being Married into Her Family

"Huh? Me?!"

Charlie's words shocked Claudia to the point she could barely react. She was startled and even thought that she had misheard him.

Earlier, when Charlie had persuaded Emma to return to Oskia, she had also felt like following them to Oskia.

However, Stephanie and Emma were different. They were Charlie's family. She might have recognized Charlie as her brother, but it was just verbally. How could she be so bold as to propose such an idea?

She knew she would be alone again once Emma and Stephanie returned to Oskia. Hence, she was very touched and could not believe that Charlie would suddenly invite her to come to Aurous Hill with them.

Charlie said firmly, "Claudie, it's meaningless for you to stay in Canada alone. Why don't you follow Mrs. Lewis and Stephanie back to Oskia? Aren't you already in your third year of high school this year? You can apply directly to the universities of Aurous Hill as a foreign student. As far as I know, the application pass rate is high for foreign students."

Many local universities were comminuted to making themselves international institutions, thus, their requirements for foreign students remained relatively low. Besides, there were no requirements for household registration, student status, and high college entrance examination scores. It would be relatively easy for a foreign student to be admitted into the universities there.

Moreover, Charlie had plenty of connections in Aurous Hill. If needed, he could provide help to Claudia later.

Stephanie was thrilled to hear Charlie's suggestion, and she asked excitedly," Charlie, can Claudia really study at a university in Aurous Hill?!"

Charlie nodded, "It shouldn't be hard. When the time comes, I'll ask about the application process for a foreign student to apply to universities in Aurous Hill."

Stephanie was very excited. "That's great to hear! Claudia has good results, so passing an exam wouldn't be a problem for her!"

As she said that, Stephanie hurriedly grabbed Claudia's hand and said excitedly," Claudia, once this is all over, come to Aurous Hill with us!"

Claudia was very emotional and excited as well. However, she still felt anxious about the move, so she said, "I-I will cause trouble for you all..."

"How can that be!" Stephanie refuted almost immediately and said, "Claudia, I'm sure Emma and Charlie will be worried if you don't come with us! If you can come with us, we can leave Canada without any worries!"

"That's right!" Emma agreed and

earnestly said, "Claudia, you should

come with us. We would worry if you stayed here alone. Besides, you don't have any family left here. There's no need to be attached here. Starting over in a new place may be a good option for you."

Having said that, Emma paused slightly before adding, "Also, if you can come with us, you won't be any trouble. You're the same as Stephanie to me. You're both my children, so with you two around, I won't feel so lonely."

Claudia nodded gratefully and choked up a little as she said, "Sorry to be such trouble..."

Stephanie grinned at her and said, "We're a family! You're no trouble at all!"

As she said that, Stephanie thought of something and asked, "Claudia, I just remembered something. Isn't your mom from Aurous Hill too?" Claudia nodded softly, "That's right..."

Then, Stephanie asked, "Do you have any family in Aurous Hill now?"

"I'm not too sure either,” Claudia lamented," My mom was very rebellious when she was younger. She came to Canady alone to study and insisted on marrying my father. My grandparents couldn't accept it, so my mom secretly migrated here and quietly married my father. My grandparents were extremely disappointed by her actions, so they cut off contact with her before I was born."

Stephanie comforted her and said, "It's okay. We'll be your family from now onward!"
