Chapter 2090
Frank shook his head. "No. Why?"
Donnie nodded. "Well, since you're free, you can get a marriage certificate with my daughter at the registration office!" "What?!"
Donnie's sudden bombshell left Frank, Tigris, and Alda all totally confused, but Donnie simply smiled, "You may not be aware, Mr. Frankton, but I've announced publicly that anyone who saves my daughter will have her hand in marriage! And a gentleman's only as good as his word, don't you agree?"
Tigris realized with a start and quickly turned to Alda. "Greetings, Mrs. Frankton!"
Alda's cheeks flushed in turn-even if the man more or less suited her, could she not at least have the time to prepare herself?
Still, Frank then turned toward Tigris. "By the way, what's that problem at the company that Jason was talking about?"
Tigris was certainly sharp and came to his senses right then. "Someone named Tony Stilton was demanding that the boss bring you to his house to kneel and apologize..." "What?!"
Donnie was incensed at the mention of the name-not only did that brat bring in a quack doctor, but they were only lucky Alda did not end up dead!
Alda quickly said, "Dad, you have to help Mr. Frankton out here, or we'd be labeled ingrates."
It was a prodding of impeccable timing, and Donnie steeled himself, calling Tony right then. "You brat! What do you think you're doing, bring your troubles to my doorstep?!" "Huh?!"
Tony, who had been waiting for Jason to come to him and apologize, flinched. "That's a misunderstanding! You know me, Mr. Ingram! Why would I cause you trouble for no reason?" "Then why are you demanding that the man who saved my daughter go to your home and kneel to you?"
"The man who saved your daughter?!"
Tony was even more shocked-what was going on?!
"You have ten minutes to come to my house. If you don't, your family business is going broke!"
And with that, Donnie hung up, not giving Tony a chance to plead his case at all.
"Gentleman, this way to the banquet hall!"
Donnie then beckoned at Frank and Tigris, ready to put a feast in their honor.
That was when Alda suddenly cringed and coughed out a mouthful of black blood!
"What... Mr. Frankton?!"
Even before Donnie finished, Frank had put Alda on a level position over the couch and tapped her gently on the chest.
A warmth unfurled across her body right then, dispelling the discomfort she felt just then.
She tried to get up immediately, forgetting that Frank's hand was still over her chest, and...
"Ahh!" Alda flushed and flinched from Frank's touch.
"What was that, Mr. Frankton?" Donnie pressed just then, clearly confused.
"Nothing much." Frank shook his head. "Just a typical adverse reaction-it would not happen again
once she finishes hertion."
Donnie nodded. "That means you'd have to stay with her day and night, right?"
Frank shook his head again. "There's no need for me to! She just has to tap her chest to stop herself if this happens again."
Donnie did not agree, however. "That won't do. Please, a life hangs in the balance you have to understand!"
"Dad... That's inappropriate!" Alda quickly said.
"What's inappropriate?" Donnie
retorted. You're getting married, so
why smother yourself with
tradition?! It's the twenty-first
century-why are you even more conservative than I am?"
Alda's cheeks flushed just as she recovered.
That was when Tony entered. "Mr. Ingram? Could you explain further about what happened?"
However, all his questions were
answered when he saw Frank, and he laughed, "Oh, Mr. Ingram! You shouldn't have... And here I was wondering why you called. So you're helping me straighten out that brat, huh
