Chapter 1508
Aurora was fuming and decided to just drop it!
After all, she knew Craig was super busy and probably wouldn't have the time to wait around for her. She figured he'd be whisked away by a phone call soon enough.
With a slight furrow in her brows, she entered the restaurant, quickly realizing she had no reason to worry about recognizing the wrong person!
When her classmate mentioned "he bought a huge bunch of roses," she thought "huge" was just a figure of speech. Oh, how wrong she was...
The roses he bought occupied an entire chair!
"Ms. Lopez?"
The guy was dressed in a sleek navy suit, sporting a sophisticated yet approachable look.
Seeing her, he immediately stood up from his chair and gracefully approached her.
"Hi, you must be Aurora," he said with a smile, extending his hand.
"Hi, I'm Duncan."
After releasing her hand, he turned around in a very gentleman-like manner to pull out a chair for Aurora, "Fleur often talks about you. From her first day at university, she came home and told me about this incredibly beautiful classmate of hers." Fleur was indeed Aurora's university classmate and Duncan's younger sister.
"She also often tells us about her incredibly handsome brother, so everyone in class knows about her good-looking brother."
"That's just her teasing me!"
Sitting down and chatting with Duncan for a bit, Aurora could immediately sense the differences between him and Craig.
Especially that smooth confidence in his conversation, something that came with a privileged upbringing, something Craig couldn't just pick up.
But to say he felt inferior, well... Craig never seemed ashamed of his job as a truck driver, something she knew from day one of meeting him. Suddenly, Aurora snapped back to reality, realizing she was thinking about Craig while sitting across from Duncan!
No, this won't do.
She was here on a date!
Her gaze drifted towards the restaurant entrance.
With Craig's towering height, he was hard to miss!
At the moment, he seemed to be on the phone, his brows furrowed, a cigarette dangling unlit between his fingers, seemingly troubled by something. "Ms. Lopez?"
Duncan's gentle voice pulled her back.
Aurora quickly regained her composure, apologizing with a smile, "Sorry, I didn't get much rest yesterday, feeling a bit off today."
"No worries! If you're not feeling well, we could perhaps reschedule? I'll be in Eldorria City for a while, not leaving till the end of the year, so there's no rush."
"It's fine, I'm already here, so it's nothing serious." She lightly tapped the menu, pointing at the Lobster Thermidor, "This dish is delicious! You've chosen a great restaurant."
Duncan's smile widened, his eyes crinkling, "This place is actually part of my portfolio, owned by a friend of mine. The moment Fleur said you'd honor me with your company for a meal, my first thought was to bring you here to try this dish!"
"Seems like you have a knack for knowing what girls like."
"Well, not all, but Fleur did mention you have a sweet tooth."
That preference of hers hadn't changed since she was little.
"She even told you that? Then it seems she really hasn't stopped talking about me."
"Exactly! So, besides the roses, I've also prepared another gift for you." Duncan reached for a beautifully wrapped box on another chair, presenting her with exquisite chocolates, "These were brought back from France, I've tried them before - very rich and sweet. Give them a try."
