The CEO's Empathy Pregnancy Pains

Chapter 178 Veda's Memories

"Back then, I ran away from hospital, and Daniel was giving me the cold shoulder. I was in a bad mood, so I hit the nightclubs every day. One night, I was dancing when Sophia found me and said she knew where Daniel was." "She said it was too loud in the club to talk, so she dragged me into a private room. There were a bunch of people in there, all friends of hers, I guess. I didn't care about them, so I just sat in a corner." Veda remembered everything, even the tiniest details.

Emily listened, feeling like she was right there with her.

Veda continued, "Sophia told me Daniel was with you, that you two went on a trip together and were even living together... The more she talked, the crazier it got. She didn't hold back on trashing your reputation."

"Luckily, I had just gotten out of the hospital. I knew you made soup for me every day, even though I didn't drink it, I kept track of the dates. Plus, Daniel was in the hospital those days, I saw him myself. If my brother hadn't insisted on changing my doctor, I wouldn't have snuck out."

"So what Sophia said didn't add up at all. I argued with her, and her friends came over to see what was going on. They even said we were all friends. What a joke, like I'd be friends with them?"

Veda smirked. "I could tell what kind of people they were right away. Sophia wanted to use me to climb the social ladder, but no way. I didn't do anything to her, I just left. Emily, why are you asking about this?" So Veda and Sophia had a falling out.

Even though it was mostly Veda attacking, Emily knew Sophia too well.

Sophia was all about her dignity, and Veda had embarrassed her in front of her friends.

Could Sophia really be that ruthless?

Thinking about it, Emily felt it was possible. What if her ultimate target was herself?

With that thought, a sense of unease crept into Emily's heart.

An even bigger suspicion began to form in her mind.

Wayne? Sophia? Could there be some connection between them?

But without proof, Emily couldn't jump to conclusions. She smiled at Veda and shook her head. "Nothing, go on."

Meanwhile, Michael got a phone call.

It was from Andrew, who had found some clues about the IP address.

Michael asked, "You mean you found it near the Brown Villa?"

Hearing this, Michael was shocked.

Near the Brown Villa? Who could it be? Hayden, Evelyn, Sophia, or... Emily? No, that couldn't be!

As soon as Emily's face popped into his mind, Michael immediately dismissed those thoughts.

He didn't believe Emily would backstab him like this!

After all, it wouldn't benefit her.

She was the one who wanted a divorce the most, so why would she delay it this way?

Could it be Hayden? But he had no reason to frame his two daughters!

Andrew replied, "Yeah, that's right. At first, I didn't believe it either, but after several investigations, the results all pointed to the area near the Brown Villa. Mr. Smith, what should we do next?" Andrew's question left Michael stumped.

What to do next? Keep digging, of course! Even if it was someone from the Brown family, they had to get to the bottom of it and find the real mastermind! No way they were letting someone frame the Smith family and mess with his only sister!

Just then, the study door swung open.

Michael didn't need to look to know who it was.

In the Smith Mansion, besides Mason, no one else would dare to barge in like that.

"I'll call you back later, gotta go," Michael said, hanging up and standing.

Sure enough, it was Mason, hobbling in with his cane.

Seeing this, Michael rushed over, genuinely worried. "Grandpa, slow down, what's the rush?"

"You really are a busy man, always on the phone even at home! Go to the Watson Mansion immediately!" Mason said, pulling Michael along excitedly.

Go to the Watson Mansion again?

Thinking of Bryan's cold face, Michael couldn't help but feel a bit helpless.

"Grandpa, didn't the Watson Mansion just have an auction and a jewelry exhibition a few days ago? And Mabel's birthday... it hasn't even been half a month, what are they hosting now?"

"What? Just because a grandson came back from abroad, they have to host guests all the time? Mabel can't be trying to introduce a girlfriend to Bryan, can she? There's no need, he already has a girlfriend, they don't need to introduce anyone."

In a moment of heat, Michael blurted out that Bryan had a girlfriend.

Luckily, Mason didn't catch that. He was more focused on the urgent situation with the Watson family.

In his anxiety, Mason swung his cane at Michael's leg. "And you can still joke with me! Hurry up, the Watson family is in big trouble, Bryan's father is back and wants to divorce Penelope! Go help out and comfort Bryan! The Watson family butler called to say Mabel is so angry she's fallen ill!"

Hearing this, Michael was stunned.

If it was about his own divorce, it would be believable in Emerald City. But Bryan's father and Penelope divorcing? Weren't they always the most loving couple?

Michael vaguely remembered that as a kid, he envied Bryan's parents the most. Compared to his own troublesome parents, it was totally different.

Mason said, "What are you standing there for? Hurry up and go! If it weren't for my leg, I wouldn't need you, you rascal!"

With that, Mason swung his cane again.

Luckily, Michael was quick and dodged in time. "Alright, I'm going. Don't hurt your back again!"

With that, Michael hurried out, bumping into Emily who had just come out of Veda's room.

"You're coming with me," Michael said.

Without thinking, Michael decided to take Emily along.

After all, going to the Watson Mansion meant seeing Bryan.

To avoid an awkward situation, it was better to bring Emily along. She might even be able to help.

For some reason, Michael had come to trust Emily.

Sometimes, he trusted her even more than Andrew.

Emily, not understanding what was happening, was pushed into the car in a dazed state and taken to the Watson Mansion.
