The Brother of My Boyfriend: A Love for Two

Chapter 29

Mandy walked to the college entrance, feeling the cool morning breeze. When she reached the door, she turned to Dylan, her smile radiating happiness.

"I'll let your parents and my mom know about the engagement," Dylan said, looking into Mandy's eyes with tenderness. "I'm sure they'll be as happy as we are."

Mandy nodded with a grateful smile. Dylan continued, "I can't wait to celebrate together. I'll book a table at our favorite restaurant to make this evening even more special."

With one last warm hug, Mandy headed towards the classrooms, her steps light and her heart filled with anticipation for what was to come. Dylan remained at the entrance, watching her with a glint of love in his eyes.

---

Megan walked to college with a radiant smile on her face, her steps feeling lighter and her heart beating faster with happiness. She couldn't contain her joy and hummed her favorite song softly. Upon entering the classroom, the professor raised an eyebrow, requesting silence.

Still smiling, Megan approached the professor and said gently, "I'm sorry, professor, I'm just really happy today." The professor looked at her with a surprised expression but nodded understandingly. Mandy, intrigued, asked, "Megan, what have you so happy?"

Megan couldn't contain her excitement and said, "Jason surprised me this morning. He made a delicious breakfast and took me to a special place."

---

Mandy, upon hearing Megan's words, felt a shiver run down her spine. Her face lost its color, leaving her as pale as a sheet. She tried to hide her surprise, but her eyes betrayed her confusion and concern.

She looked at Megan with a mix of disbelief and alarm. "Wait, Megan. You said he took you to your secret place?" Mandy asked, her voice filled with concern.

Megan noticed the change in Mandy's expression and furrowed her brow, worried about her friend's reaction. "Yes, Mandy. He said it's a special place just for us. Why?"

Mandy hesitated for a moment before responding, choosing her words carefully, but her distress was evident in her voice.

---

Mandy, realizing the tension in the air, quickly tried to calm the situation. She forced a smile and said, "Oh, don't worry, Megan. I was just surprised, that's all. What's this secret place like?"

Megan, still a bit bewildered, tried to explain, "Well, Jason said it's an apartment he keeps a secret. It was a gift from his father before he passed away. He wanted it to be a special place just for us, where we could meet when we wanted some time alone."

Mandy nodded, trying to appear calm, but her thoughts were swirling.

---

Megan smiled as she recalled Jason's sweet gesture. She continued to share with Mandy, "You know, Mandy, Jason changed when he thought he might lose me. I was so frustrated and upset with him that I even said I would end things. But the next day, when I went to his house, he had set up a beautiful breakfast table, with flowers and a note full of such beautiful words. He told me he was willing to do whatever it took to make me happy."

Mandy listened attentively, seeing the sincerity in Megan's eyes. She knew she needed to be careful when addressing the subject of the secret apartment, but she also wanted to make sure Megan was being treated the way she deserved. The situation was becoming more complex with each revelation.

Mandy forced a smile to hide the hurt she felt, and, disguising her concern, said, "I'm happy for you, Megan."

As they continued to talk, Mandy couldn't help but feel the discomfort the situation was causing her. She knew she needed to clarify some things. With a sigh, she picked up her phone and sent an urgent message to Jason, asking to talk as soon as possible. Curiosity and concern drove her to uncover the truth behind this secret apartment.

---

Mandy looked at her phone and saw Jason's response, saying he would wait for her at his apartment. A shiver ran down her spine, mixing with the tension she felt. She knew this conversation was important, and she was determined to find out the truth about the "secret apartment."

Megan, realizing she had been talking nonstop, suddenly realized she hadn't asked how her friend was. She looked at Mandy with concern and said, "I'm sorry, Mandy. I've been talking nonstop, and I didn't even ask how you're doing. How are things with Dylan after the scene Mrs. Morgana made?"

Mandy smiled at Megan and said with a gleam in her eyes, "Everything's fine between me and Dylan. He asked me to marry him!"

Megan's face lit up with joy. Without thinking, she let out a shout of happiness in the room. The teacher, surprised, asked for silence. Megan quickly apologized and exclaimed, "Sorry, everyone, it's just that my friend got engaged!" The room filled with smiles and congratulations on Mandy's good news.

Megan smiled sincerely and said, "I'm happy for you, Mandy. Just don't let Morgana ruin things, okay?"

Mandy nodded determinedly and replied, "Don't worry, Megan. I don't care about her poison. I understand that Dylan is caught in the crossfire between me and his mother. We'll get through this together, and we won't let her ruin what we have."

"That's the spirit, my girl. That's how you talk. I don't like seeing you sad. You guys are a beautiful couple. I hope that one day Jason and I can have what you two have - that closeness and that love," Megan said.

"Are you really into him? Because you've never been the type to want to date," Mandy asks curiously.

"I fought not to fall for him, but there's no way around it. He's amazing, and caring, and we have an amazing time together. Now I'm head over heels for him," Megan replies, clearly in love.

"I just hope he doesn't hurt you because you're not the type to fall in love easily," Mandy tries to disguise her jealousy.

"I know how to stand up for myself, my friend. If he deceives me, I'll move on. Neither he nor anyone else will make a fool out of me. But thanks for always caring about me," Megan says. "I'll always care about you, my friend," Mandy affirms.

"I know that, friend. You know what? I remembered the other day when you mistook him for Dylan," Megan says.

Mandy looks startled at Megan and asks, "Why did you remember that after all this time?"

"Because if he were a womanizing scoundrel, he would have done everything to get you. Look at how he respects you, and from what I know, you two don't even get along that well," Megan says.

"It's not that we don't get along, it's just that I don't like having too many people in my space. And the fact that Jason already took a woman there annoyed me. But we're fine," Mandy says.

Before Megan could respond, the professor once again calls their attention, warning that they're disrupting, They then finish the conversation and fall silent as the professor draws their attention back to the class.
