The Billionaire’s Regret

Chapter 124 –

Ivy awoke again, surrounded by the odor of disinfectant. As it turned out, she was hospitalized. She let out a sigh of relief.

She had the impression that she was still free-falling on the bungee rope, falling, bouncing, and falling again in her dream. Her body trembled and was tense with fear as a result of the repeated weightlessness. Her brow was wiped with a warm towel.lvy cast a sidelong glance. Her face instantly turned gloomy when she saw the person clearly."How come you haven't left yet?"

Wyatt responded, "Uhm, it's my fault." His voice was raspy and low, and he sounded endlessly sorry.

Ivy appeared to be having nightmares even when she was unconscious because she was constantly sweating while chanting, "Don't push me."

It was entirely his fault! He didn't expect Ivy to be so terrified. He would not have pulled her down with him if he had known what was going to happen. He'd rather jump down a hundred times than watch someone else do it. Ivy averted her gaze and avoided his towel. Demi and her driver appeared just as she was about to yell at him to leave.

"Ms. Morgan, you're awake?" Demi held a thermos in her hand and poured a bowl of soup with deftness. "It's to help you relax. Please have some."

Ivy picked it up and smelled it. Her stomach grumbled because it was very fragrant. She then took a few sips before setting the bowl down. Wyatt took her bowl and offered to do her dishes. On the other hand, Demi couldn't imagine Wyatt cleaning and quickly took it away. "I'll do it, Mr. Reed. You can take a nap."

Ivy gave Wyatt a glum expression. "Aren't you a very busy individual? Can you leave?"

Wyatt's lips formed a straight line. His pupils dilated slightly. "I'm not going to bother you."

"Just by being in this room, you're bothering me." Ivy chased him away unceremoniously.

Wyatt remained silent, stood up, and walked away.

Demi sighed as she looked at Ivy's fierce expression. "Don't be upset, Ms. Morgan. Mr. Reed was the one who escorted you to the hospital."

"What?"

"The emergency vehicle lacked the necessary tools, and when we left, the tires were punctured. Mr. Reed was so worried about you that he carried you down the hill," Demi explained.

Ivy was stunned and lost in thought, staring out into the distance.

'It appears I can't even be angry at him!'

"Also, when you fainted, you clung to him, refusing to let go. Didn't you notice you were holding his sleeve the entire time? You'd cry if he moved away, so he didn't dare to leave and has stayed by your side this time. Mr. Reed also had this soup delivered." Ivy was dissatisfied with herself.

'How come I'm humiliating myself when I'm unconscious?!'

"Has the show been taped?" Ivy quickly changed the topic. She didn't lose sight of the primary goal.

Demi nodded. "Yeah, it's finished. Everyone has returned. We're free to leave whenever you're ready."

'Oh, well, at least I didn't put anything off.'

Demi noticed that Ivy's complexion was not in good shape, so she advised her to rest.

Ivy had intended to leave soon, but sleep overtook her. She couldn't stop herself from falling asleep. It was nighttime when she opened her eyes again.

Demi turned off the lights in the ward and shut the door because Ivy was sleeping, but the curtains were open, so Ivy knew it was already dark outside.

It was a cold and still night. Outside, the streetlights were turned on. There was some noise outside, but the soundproofing in the ward was excellent. The room was so quiet that a pin could drop.

The ward's interior and exterior felt like two different worlds.

Ivy took a deep breath and enjoyed the sensation. She got out of bed quietly and wanted to open the door to leave. She was about to close the door when she heard a low voice outside.

"You've been sitting here all day, Mr. Reed, and you haven't eaten anything. Why don't you go inside and rest for a little while?"

Demi's voice was heard.

"There's no need." Wyatt's voice was instantly recognized.

When he spoke to strangers, his voice was always clear and cold, with no hint of warmth.

Ivy's hand on the doorknob hesitated for a moment before opening the door and walking out.

"Get ready. I want to go home," Ivy said, causing Demi to pause for a moment before responding.

"All right, the driver is waiting outside."

Wyatt stood up and locked his gaze on Ivy for a brief moment.

"Do you feel better?" he inquired.

Ivy paused for a moment. "Yeah."

Wyatt was taken aback when he heard her tone was not stiff. His gaze immediately softened and became gentle. He had previously been inexplicably concerned that Ivy would be traumatized, but he had forgotten that Ivy was not a fragile porcelain doll. After such an incident, only Ivy would throw a temper tantrum like this.

Wyatt intended to return her, but he was interrupted by an emergency call from the office.

Wyatt said goodbye to Ivy and left on his own because Ken's voice was very anxious.

Ivy was wide awake on the way home. Her phone was inundated with worried messages.

Vince was the most dramatic. He was the only one who sent 99 unread messages.

Ivy didn't even bother to read them. She simply took a blurry, unfocused shot of the night sky. Rather, it was a hazy jumble of city lights and traffic.

Then she captioned this photo on her social media: (Beautiful night. I'm doing fine.)

The likes and comments nearly drowned her out in a matter of seconds.

@Vince: You posted a picture but didn't respond to my message???

@brad_cooper's: Photography skills: 0/10

@youngflint: Please get well soon!

@s_albert: Send me your exact location!

Ivy had chosen a few to respond to and was about to close the page when she noticed a new comment.

@Ken: Conveying a message: Beautiful shot! Professionalism is on a different level.

Ivy clenched her teeth. Needless to say, Ken could only speak for one man.

Was he complimenting her or mocking her?

'Idiot Wyatt Reed!'

Ivy rested for a few days after returning to the Morgan mansion.

Windy dragged Ivy out to go shopping, eat, and play games in order to restore Ivy's vitality.

The recorded variety show was uploaded to the internet in the blink of an eye.

Ivy wasn't interested in watching the live broadcast, but she did enjoy watching the show after it had been edited. It always gave her a boost of energy. She was engrossed in the fifteen-minute video.

It began with a focus on Wyatt's guest appearance. They avoided Mirasol's drama and made everyone's interactions appear harmonious and warm.

The editor was fantastic! In the comments section, the debate over Ivy became even more heated.

Wyatt went on this show solely for lvy, and everyone agreed.

Otherwise, why would Wyatt attend an adventure variety show when he had never attended any of the financial shows despite receiving numerous invitations? Not just because he was the title sponsor. (Doesn't Mr. Reed adore our Goddess Ivy?)

(Lmao! This feels like an episode of "How to Get Your Wife Back and Die in the Process!")

(Vince no longer has a chance.)

(Do not waver, Goddess Ivy! Flint is still the best option!)

There were numerous comments.

People even sent her private messages encouraging her to keep going and not give up because of Wyatt Reed.

'Do they think I'm a moron?'

Someone even told her that she should forgive Wyatt Reed because he had changed. What a dimwit!

Ivy tossed her phone to the side, refusing to look at it.

AFTER A FEW DAYS, Vince proposed the third episode, but Ivy flatly refused. She no longer wanted to be a part of the show, especially since she learned that Wyatt Reed was the show's title sponsor. Knowing her tenacity, Vince could only accept this with reluctance.

The news of Ivy's departure from the show quickly spread like wildfire. The netizens reacted in a big way.

(Without Ivy, this show is like losing its soul! I only watch this show because of Goddess Ivy's expression and Mirasol's stupidity!)

(Goddess Ivy, please reconsider your decision and make your acting debut! You're far more intriguing than the other actresses!) (Are you leaving due to Mr. Reed?)

Everyone was debating her relationship with Wyatt, so there was a lot of speculation and commentary about it.

Every day, Ivy's socials were bombarded.

There was no other option but to let Morgan Corporation step in and make an announcement in the company's name.

[Ivy Morgan has been reinstated to her position at Morgan Corporation with immediate effect.]lvy forwarded this notice with the message: It's time for me to get back to work!
