The Billionaire’s Maid Bride

Chapter 589

Chapter 589
As soon as the thug dropped his guard, Bryan lunged forward to help the fallen staff member to his feet. “You okay, man?”
“Bryan,” the employee gasped, “I’m sorry.”
Bryan shook his head. “Not your fault. Where did you get hit?”
The Blue Club had its share of tough guys. They were friends of Hughes who could handle themselves in any brawl. But it also
employed regular people who just worked there for a paycheck. Now, seeing his crew roughed up like this, Hughes was seeing
red.
His fists clenched tight. He told Bryan, “Get them to the hospital.”
“You sure you can handle this alone?” Bryan asked, with concern marking his features.
With a ned from Hughes, Bryan ushered the injured away, leaving without interference. Tthese goons were here for Hughes, not
the small fries.
Hughes sneered as two of his buddies took up positions beside him. “Hughes, these guys mean business, looking for trouble on
purpose.”
The leader of the opposing group stepped forward. “You’re Hughes?”
Hughes’ face turned to ice. “Seems I’ve unwittingly crossed someone. What’s this payback for?”
“It’s simple. You crossed the wrong people, and we’re just here to collect,” the thug snapped his fingers. “Tear this place apart!”
Chaos erupted once more in the bar.
Hughes kicked out, sending a goon flying, and then grabbed a beer bottle, smashing it over another attacker’s head. He was
outnumbered but fighting fiercely. The leader, surprised by his strength, saw his men faltering. But the numbers were against
Hughes, and soon enough, he took some hits.
That was when Bryan returned, throwing himself into the fray. Hughes dodged a punch and hurled a glass across the room.
“What are you doing here, Bryan? Looking to get beat up?”

Bryan gritted his teeth. “I might not be the best fighter, but I can help!”
Hughes landed a punch that floored another thug. He walked over and punched some more. “I’ll show you what happens when
you mess with the Blue Club. You’ll be lucky to leave here breathing!”
The tide was turning against the attackers, and the leader was growing desperate. “Finish this and I’ll treat you all,” he roared,
but his voice betrayed his fear.
Bryan got pinned down by a couple of punks. Weak in combat, he crouched, covering his belly from the kicks and punches.
Hughes took down his opponent and leapt to kick away Bryan’s attackers, helping him up. “Bro, cops are on their way. We’re
outnumbered. We can’t hold them off.”
Suddenly, Bryan’s eyes widened in horror. “Hughes, watch out!”
He lunged to shield Hughes, just as a glint of steel spun through the air, but Hughes was quicker, shoving Bryan aside.
The sickening sound of blade piercing flesh echoed through the turmoil.
Pain engulfed Hughes, and his face turned ghostly pale.
With eyes wide with shock and agony, he lashed out. He turned around and punched the man behind him in the chin.
“Hughes!!” Bryan cried out in terror.
He reached out to steady Hughes, whose strength was quickly fading.
