Need to rid him off, permanently

- Jacqueline

I didn't know how but my dad managed to find my phone number when I absentmindedly picked up the call from the unknown number. I was on one of my lunch dates with Remy this time it was Sylvia who was accompanying me and Remy had been in a good mood and enjoying our togetherness, talking, and savoring our meals.

"How did you get my number?" I asked when I recognized his voice the moment he mentioned my name.

"Well, hello to you too my darling daughter."

"Why did you call? my husbands, they're going to know about this."

Remy and Silvia were quick to put their attention on me and my conversation. I could see Silvia was typing away on her phone like a good tattle tale that she was.

"Ah, yes, your fucked up marital arrangements. You disappointed me, Jacqueline. I was to marry you off with a good man, a respectable person with an impeccable line of generations trace back to the eighteen hundreds."

I rolled my eyes as if he could see me, and the feeling to throw my phone away was strong. But I still need to know the reason why he was calling me.

"Dad, I'm hanging up on you if you don't have anything more to convey that I don't already know." I looked at Silvia who just caught the person who I addressed on the other side of the line. Remy put his hand on mine before he looked at our surroundings though I was not sure what he could do if any danger arises.

"Your mother left me, she did the unthinkable and divorced me. No one in my family had ever been divorced!" the man shouted from the other line and I moved the phone away from my ear because of his high pitch of anger. His rage was surely mixed with madness and bad intentions mixed together.

The anger rolled inside me, my heart was beating faster, so hard that I thought it might break out of my ribcage. My hands shook with anger the second I ended the call.

I was done with him, I didn't need to listen to his rambling. I was safe in my town or so I thought, as the man I hated in the whole entire world walked into the restaurant and beeline towards me.

"Oh fuck no..." Remy was the first to notice and Silvia got the gist when she made a call on her phone and quickly stood in front of our table.

"Remy, call the manager, yelled if you have to, we need security. But don't go far." Silvia gave orders like she was the badest middle-aged woman in the freaking restaurant, and people were starting to turn heads.

"I've called your husbands they're on their way here and they had their security team dispatched they will be here soon," Silvia assured me, making sure her voice is loud enough for my dad to hear. I was standing but Silvia won't move from my front.

Damn, she would surely get a better employment appraisal than Silas. I know he'd be jealous of her right now, yep, the twins' PA can be a bit strange in some ways.

"Your so-called husbands, they tricked me! I need more, they didn't give enough. Now that your mom's gone I have people coming for money. I can't fucking live like this." There it was, right out of nowhere he was producing a handgun. He pointed at us and I fear for Silvia's life, but the woman did not even blink.

"Damn it, Silvia, don't do this, you're going to get yourself killed." Where did my husbands get their PAs? it was like this woman planted roots on the restaurant's shiny marble flooring. She didn't budge, not even an inch and she kept me behind her back making sure dad didn't get a good aim at me.

Remy was back with the manager and he was bringing in security, but all were told to move back when men in suits entered the restaurant. Guns attached to their hands and spread throughout the restaurant. Silvia and I were taken from the line of fire, and Remy reunited with us.

Dad was still yelling, his gun was aiming aimlessly until I heard a single gunshot. Then people started screaming, some were running out of the restaurant. But all I saw was my dad's dead body and his brain scattered all over the floor. I was seeing the horror on the restaurant manager's face, he was probably thinking about his next employment already. I would comfort the stranger if I wasn't in shock from looking at my dad's eyes. He's dead, he's freaking dead and he still looked at me with hatred.

I slipped, somehow my legs failed to hold my weight when the adrenaline rush ended. My dad died in front of my eyes. Images flashing before my eyes thinking how could today's event quickly turn to dad killing himself? Remy hold me up and Silvia hurriedly grabbed a chair for me. My hands were to my belly, the stress was too much that I needed my men.

And just like a prayer, they came racing into the restaurant. Passing through my dad's dead body and hugging me.

"Take me home, please..." I hugged and kissed them back, couldn't care less that people were watching me kissing two guys in front of a dead man.

Grady carried me to the car while Percy was busy talking to the security guys and the restaurant manager. Remy and Silvia followed us until Grady thanked them for being there for me and told them to go home.

"Thank you, Silvia, I'll see you in the office. And Remy, she will call you as soon as she can. Again, I can't thank you both enough."

Grady and I waited in the car for Percy, then we were headed back to our home. But halfway towards the house, I was holding on to my belly, then I knew something was wrong.

"No... no... no, please don't... hospital, I need..." I didn't get to finish my words when I screamed in agony. Grady barked out to the driver to take us to the nearest hospital while Percy was already on his phone talking to my doctor, I hear him telling her to meet us at the hospital.

"It's alright, beautiful, you're all going to be alright." Grady tried to convince me though I know he was also convincing himself and his brother.

Percy was still on the phone when he abruptly spread my thighs and looked under my dress. I would laugh if I didn't know what he was looking for because I silently hoped there wasn't any bleeding. Since I was too numbed and I couldn't feel anything aside from the cramping in my belly.

"She not bleeding, thank fuck, doctor are you on your way? Good, I'll meet you there." Percy ended the call and hugged me, the man kissed my belly and both husbands kissed my lips. Each with different pressure, both giving me the comfort that I desperately needed.

Grady told the driver to drive faster and we were at the ER entrance in less than ten minutes. Dr. Mallory must've called the hospital because they were ready to receive me and I was moved to a wheelchair and rushed to the elevator, going up straight to the maternity floor.

I wanted the babies to be safe and I was so fucking relieved when I saw my doctor was already there putting on her gloves then swiftly and calmly greeted me after she instructed the nurses to aide me for my check-up. "Dads, please step aside the nurse needs to check her vitals. You can stay in the room, hello there mom, are we ready to check on the twins and see what gets them excited?"

One hour later, after a very thorough ultrasound and the questioning session between my husbands and my doctor. I was finally declared healthy, she had me on three-day bed rest to eliminate the cramping. But mainly she had explained it was caused by stress. And that's why they hauled me back to the penthouse making sure I was away from our house and the nursery renovation.

I huffed and puffed but they did not relent. Percy stayed with me, while Grady went to meet up with their lawyer and Silvia to the police station to give statements regarding my dad's suicide.

While I rest, I kept on trying to find out how dad managed to find me. Percy didn't want to say more, but he sighed and finally told me that dad had reached out to them last month. "He was asking for more money, he had gambled away the townhouse. He lost it already. Last I heard, he was living in motels that was why your mom finally left him."

"The hell, I thought my mom was reconnecting with her family?"

"Yeah, it was a freak coincidence I guess, losing the house finally finalizes your mom's decision to divorce your dad and finally leave the country. And I'm guessing your dad got furious with your mom and then tracked her down to our last meet-up with her. And today, you see him end his life." Percy explained carefully, interrupting my words while he tucked me into the bed.

"Seriously Percy? I haven't even had dinner yet, I'm not ready for bed."

"Princess, you should nap. I'll go take care of dinner." He lowered himself down to kiss my baby bump sweetly and I instantly melt under him. I hated that he went all sweet on me and the babies, that was my freaking kryptonite and he knows it.

I closed my eyes when he kissed the tip of my nose, telling me softly that he loves me and he loves our baby boys.

Ugh... I was getting a toothache from his overly sweet gesture alone.
