The Billionaire Daddies

Chapter 13. Daddies, Yay or Nay

Men and their demands Self-worth be damned

- Jacqueline

It was three days later when Grady and Percy signed up with the agency, then I was informed that they had requested a dinner date with me and more.

"They both were very persistent in putting you on a retainer and comically upset when I told them that we don't do that to our babies." Kamaria gets up from her seat, walking to look out of her office window before continuing. "I told them that our babies are not his lawyers who will be available anytime they need and my words actually pissed them off." She laughed then move to lean her ass on her desk, crossing her arms and looking straight at me.

"Tell me you know these men?" She asked after she presented me with their file.

I didn't need to see their portfolio, cause I know already the second she mentioned their names. "I do, and they're not that bad. I'm friends with their sister."

"Oh, thank God, I thought I need to pull Gene from his holiday."

Gene is the agency's best bodyguard, I haven't heard about him in a while. There used to be something between him and Benjamin, my almost non-existent roommate. Damn, these weeks turned to months and suddenly I realize that I haven't met up with my bestie in what felt like decades. We used to be very close until Benji entangled himself with his hot previously-straight Paralegal guy who's also a very sexy single daddy. "Jacqueline?"

"Sorry, I was thinking about Gene, then Benji. I haven't seen Benji in a while,"

"Well, he's been absent a lot, my PA desk is once more littered with interns and temps." Kamaria sighed and I felt bad for her.

"We should have a drink, you looked like you can use one. Let's talk about this at that new sushi place across the street?"

Kamaria looked at her watch, it was almost lunchtime when she nodded, grabbed the documents put them inside her drawers, and locked it. Keys were thrown into her latest Hermes leather tote and phone on her other hand. "Come on, I can use some Umeshu and sushi rolls." I waited for her while she speaks to the temp who's currently sitting on Benji's chair.

I reminded myself to call Benji tonight and set up a meeting. I missed him, we used to be close with our neighbors Gemma and Ella too. Yup, Ella as in the twin's little sister. Damn, I was supposed to keep my mind away from the twin. I don't know how but I kept on getting back to them and it made my irritation grow stronger.

Or maybe it's your itch, Jacqueline?

Confess that you miss them.

Now, my inner thoughts were mocking me. But then Kamaria, my boss, one of my oldest office friends tugged my hand and pulled my thoughts back when we crossed the street and walk all the way to the newly opened sushi place. The place was newly decorated, simple, modern, yet it looked very authentic. The lighting is warm, the big Japanese painting across the wall was beautifully placed adding to the aesthetic of the place. Some people were already seated, chatting, drinking, and some chefs were preparing dishes in an open concept sushi bar.

Kamaria asked for a private table, this is how she likes her privacy and we were ushered to a beautifully decorated private room. We ordered and talked while we wait for our lunch.

"These Bennet brothers, I know you know them personally, so why give them your card, do they need to be your clients?" She asked but not in a probing manner, more like a curious one.

"Yeah, I gave Percy the card, weeks, maybe a month ago and now I'm regretting it." I sighed and she titled her head as if she was intrigued by me.

"Oh, don't give me that look, Kami. I've known you for years. You know why I got into this thing."

She laughed and told me it was because of my obvious sex drives, we paused when the waiter came in with our order. The platter looked beautiful and the drinks were mouth-watering.

"So your neighbor, their sister, she knows about your job?" I know where she's going with this. The agency is very exclusive, they pride themselves on their confidentiality.

"She knows, she's our neighbor. Mine and Benji's, you don't have to worry about her."

"I know, you won't be with us this long if you don't know what you're doing." She said in between her bites.

"God, these taste amazing." I moaned and she laughed, telling me that I was even provocative while I eat.

"Hey, it's a talent acquired and perfected by years of doing." I put one whole piece of the California rolls and she shook her head in amazement.

Lunch was great, we went through the twin's portfolio that she had memorized. We get an idea of how they want me to be exclusively theirs for a certain amount of time.

"Though I've told them that we don't do retainer, I didn't tell them that we can offer them exclusivity. I want to talk about this with you first, I can work around your schedule, it's actually for your benefit. Once other clients know you're unavailable for the next six months they will be too eager for you once you're done with the Bennet brothers six months contract." She finishes her drink before ordering mineral water to dilute the alcohol, we still need to go back to the office after lunch.

I nodded and she grinned. Six months. I was bored with the routine anyway.

"Damn, I still can't believe I'm drafting contracts for the billionaire twin." There was a smile on her face though she was trying hard to keep it professional, but we've known each other for so long that her words were making me laugh. "Shit, Kami! You need to stop making me feel like such a porn star." We giggled and she couldn't resist ordering another glass of Umeshu on the rocks.

We clink our glasses once the waiter came back with our drinks. "Last glass, this is a celebratory toast, another milestone passed for our beautiful Jacqueline Corbin."

"Oh my God, Kami, you're not going to make a plaque out of this contract aren't you?" Kamaria throwback a satisfied laugh but tells me no, my achievement will be permanently kept secret.

"So, that's a yes then? you'll agree with the six months exclusivity?"

"I'm sure you're going to work out the details and the amount. I trust you as always, but yes, let me try this. But can you strain them along for a couple of weeks? I like to make it hard for them." I sipped my glass, Kamaria smirked and shook her head.

"Damn Jacques, you're one nasty baby. Now I know why they kept on coming back to you."

We ended our impromptu lunch date half an hour later. Kamaria told me to take the rest of the day off, telling me that she's going to take the time to draft the contracts with legal and will show me the details before giving them to the brothers.

I had just entered my apartment, my thoughts were to the brothers and how I was crazy to even think about being their baby exclusively for six months. And as if they know that I was informed of their dinner request, Percy called telling me that he's with Grady and I was on speaker.

"Afternoon Jacqueline, it's been a while." Grady's deep serious voice greeted me after Percy's lighter tone.

"You guys knew that I was informed, didn't you?" I accused them of talking with Kamaria right away, my eyes squinted though I realized they can't see me from the other line.

Percy chuckled, "I told you she'd pick up, we just need to get her attention." The younger brother boasts.

"I was ignoring both of you, hoping you'd get the message."

"We did, but Jacqueline baby, we always get what we want." Grady retorted, I can imagine his cocky smile already. The brothers had been texting on and off sometimes called but I managed to ignore them up until they slither their way into my account and that's when I regret giving Percy the card.

Although I know for sure that Kamaria will milk the hell out of their account, I couldn't care less. I was suddenly torn between wanting them and building a thicker wall. The walls were mentally up already, knowing for sure that I'd definitely say yes to their six months contract. My feelings were very confused and them calling me was not making it better.

I need to dismiss my dumbness.
