Chapter 614
Mia checked the time. "How about we swing by tomorrow when we're free? The poor little guy got a haircut today and cried so much, the whole block probably knows Andre's kid is a crybaby." As we chatted, the little munchkin started fussing again, about to cry.
Andre scooped up his son from our arms, comforting the little guy.
It was getting late, so after a brief chat, we all headed off to bed.
Andre still had bits of his son's hair on him. Without a bib during his haircut, the little one was uncomfortable from the hair clippings.
But bathing him was another battle. He resisted every step of the way, bursting into tears the moment he touched the water, like a little crybaby.
Yet, he calmed down once held.
After Andre showered away the hair clippings, he picked up his little bundle and stepped under the shower again.
Soon, Mia joined, tiptoeing to grab the showerhead, adjusting the water pressure before gently starting to bathe the naked little tyke.
The little one nestled in his dad's arms, blissfully letting mom wash his face, back, and belly.
"Honey, lift his chin up, clean his neck," Mia instructed.
Andre pinched those chubby cheeks, tilting his son's face up to reveal the hidden neck folds.
Bathing in dad's arms was far more comforting than the water alone.
After the bath, Mia was soaked. She let the father and son leave to dry off as she began her own nightly routine.
When she finished and came out, she couldn't find their "ah-ah" sounding son. "Honey, where's the baby?"
"He's with my dad; he said he'd watch him for the night. Gives us time to discuss what your kisses mean to me."
Mia was speechless, knowing full well their son had napped plenty that evening and could wake at any moment during the night.
In Hansen's bedroom,
The old man gazed at his grandson under the covers, pinching his plump little body. "Henry, grandpa's missed you."
"Ah-ya-ah."
"Missed grandpa too, huh? My dear boy." Love filled Hansen's eyes.
Two hours later,
Hansen fought to keep his eyes open. "Buddy, can we sleep now? No more babble; grandpa can't understand a word. Let's close our eyes." Another hour passed before Hansen, with the baby in tow, decided to return him.
At 1 a.m.,
When Hansen knocked, Andre, shirtless, answered. "Dad?"
The baby immediately turned to find his father.
Frustrated, Hansen pushed the child towards Andre. "You made him, you deal with him!"
With that, he stormed off.
Andre chuckled, looking down at his little bundle.
Mia, hair in disarray and unable to fully wake, was exposed under the sheets, her back marked with love bites.
Following Mia's request to avoid visible marks, Andre had pinned her down, focusing his affection on her back. "Honey, what's up?" Mia murmured weakly.
Their son, back in his parents' arms, was more excited than ever, giggling at Andre.
"Our little unwanted bundle got returned," Andre joked.
The baby, thrilled to be back, tried rolling towards his mother, failing but happy to see his beautiful, soft, and pretty mom.
Andre climbed in from the other side, looking at his son with a mix of adoration and helplessness. "What's this little chatterbox going to grow into? Always crying, fussing, and babbling." "Honey, record this. Let him see his own antics when he's older."
After the fuss at grandpa's, the little one was actually tired.
Snuggled between his parents, he didn't need much coaxing to fall asleep.
Mia, exhausted, snuggled closer to her son, drifting off within seconds.
Only Andre remained awake, watching his family, filled with emotion.
He kissed his wife, then his son, before turning off the light, enveloping the room in safety...
The next day, everyone was up except for the grandfather-grandson duo.
Hansen, worn out from the night's adventures, was unresponsive, while the little guy, after a feed, went back to sleep.
Those eager to see the little baldy tiptoed into Mia's room, not to disturb the milky-scented sleeper.
Oblivious to the lurking dangers, the family basked in peace, forgetting the ever-present threats that could strike at any moment.
When time pressed, Mia, adhering to their plan, changed the baby and headed out with Andre already waiting, the Cedillo family split into two cars, leaving the estate.
Midway, Andre's phone rang.
Seeing the caller, Mia noticed. "Anya's mom?"
Andre answered, "Hey, sister-in-law? What's up?"
Parking to the side, "What happened to Big Bro Ning?"
Leo and Anya's car followed suit, puzzled by the sudden halt.
Soon, Mia, holding the baby, stepped out, instructing Andre, "Go ahead. I'll head to the studio with Leo for a quick change."
Joining Anya in the backseat, they drove past Andre towards the studio, unknowingly followed by two more vehicles.
Andre, securing the following cars' presence, called Mrs. Calder for details.
At the studio, everyone awaited their arrival. A man hidden in the backroom, noticing Andre's absence, felt a surge of confidence.
Overseas, Old Walker admired his youngest, "AJ, you were born to bring Andre down," strategically creating an emergency to lure him away.
Wesley added, "The rest is up to Tom."
Dressing the little guy turned into quite the ordeal. He was wary of strangers, refusing to be held by anyone. At this moment, though, his mischievous older brother turned out to be his rock. Touch him, and he'd cry, unless it was Leo. With a smile, Mia said to the photographer, "Let's snap a photo of the two brothers first, for keepsakes. It's not every day that my son clings to Leo like this."
