Shattered Vows Shining Comeback

Chapter 73

Chapter 73 The Woman Who Shopped Gwen to Tears

“Then you may head back to Bellmont City for a few days and return right after the memorial,” Jake said.

Jake had always been exceptionally tolerant of Sienna because of Emily and Joshua, and this time was no different.

Sienna stroked her stomach, her expression growing darker with each passing moment.

She was determined to find a way to stay in Bellmont City. This godforsaken place was the last place she wanted to remain,

“Gwen, let’s see how you plan to steal my man once you’re dead,” she thought..

After sending everyone away, Gwen was in high spirits and chatted with Sofia for a long time about their travel experiences.

When they were done, Sofia called the mall and had them clear all customers, leaving the staff inside to cater exclusively to her and Gwen. They went on a shopping spree for hours before finally heading home.

Gwen collapsed on the couch as she was utterly exhausted. She pleaded, “Aunt Sofia, you’re a woman who has crossed the Anondas River. Your stamina is unmatched, and I admire you for it.”

Sofia ordered the housekeeper to hang up the luxury items they had bought and smiled. “It’s been years since I’ve bought you clothes. We have to buy everything that looks good on you. Tomorrow, we’ll hit up another spot.”

Gwen looked around the thousand–square–foot living room, which was now completely filled with all sorts of dresses and jewelry. There was enough to start a boutique.

With a pained expression, Gwen groaned. “We’re still buying more items?”

“Of course,” Sofia replied.

“I’m heading back to Bellmont City soon. I won’t even get to wear all of this,” Gwen said.

“In that case, we’ll have it shipped to you, or we’ll store it in the room I’ve set aside just for you. You can wear them when you come back,” Sofia replied.

Gwen shook her head helplessly. All this was a sweet gesture but also a burdensome one.

Sofia suddenly remembered something important and quickly sat down beside Gwen. “Gwen, please stay

a few more days. William will be back tomorrow. You two should take some time to catch up.”

Gwen couldn’t help but laugh. “Alright, I’ll do whatever you say. I haven’t seen William in years, so it’s a good chance to meet up with my brother.”

Sofia frowned a little. “Stop calling him your brother. You two aren’t blood–related, and I’m still hoping to pair you twe up.”

“Help, Aunt Sofia is trying to play matchmaker! Gwen quickly ran off to her room, pretending to escape. “You silly girl, come back here! I haven’t even told you about William’s great qualities!” Sofia shouted.”

Back in her room, Gwen opened her phone and saw the messages from Ryan.

Ryan: “Gwen, you’re in Findley and didn’t come to see me? I’m heartbroken.

Gwen: “Aren’t you busy with your concert? I didn’t want to disturb

you.”

Ryan: “It doesn’t matter. I have a show at the stadium tomorrow and want to see my dearest sister in the crowd. If I don’t, I’m calling off the concert.”

Gwen: “Alright, I’ll be there!”

The next morning, Gwen was woken up by noises outside.

“Sofia, open the door and let me in!”

Gwen peeked out of the window and saw Andy standing downstairs. He was holding a bouquet of lilies. and knocking at the door.

When Andy saw Gwen, he waved and said, “Gwen, hurry up and let me in. I’ve been standing here forever.” “Don’t open the door, Gwen! Let him stand out there!” Sofia’s voice came from the window next door.

Gwen covered her mouth to stifle a laugh. Watching Sofia and Andy play out this scene was more entertaining than a TV show.

“Gwen, listen to me, please. I’ll thank you with a big gift later.” Andy begged.

Gwen cleared her throat. “Aunt Sofia, it looks like it’s about to rain. What if Uncle Andy catches a cold?

Sofia, in the next room, was distressed. “Fine, let him in. But he’s not allowed upstairs!”

“Got it!” Gwen replied.

At the breakfast table, Sofia reminded Gwen, “Don’t forget to meet with William today.”

“Aunt Sofia, I should go and see Ryan first,” Gwen replied.

Gwen felt a little guilty. In truth, she could have met with Ryan another day, but she was a bit hesitant. The William she remembered was like an elder, very mature and serious. The idea of being set up with him didn’t sit right with her,

“Yes, you should see Ryan first.” Sofia nodded. “You can drive my car there later.”

“Thank you, Aunt Sofia!” Gwen gave Sofia a big hug.

Gwen drove Sofia’s Pagani Zonda and sped down the road.

The sleek silver–gray car turned heads everywhere it went. This was the only one of its kind in this world, a limited edition usually seen only in concept advertisements.

Drivers on the road glanced over and tried to catch a glimpse of the person behind the wheel of the top- tier car.

Gwen pressed down on the gas after realizing she was running late, leaving the other cars in the dust. All the drivers could do was watch the silver streak disappear into the distance.
