Xavier snorted coldly. There was no reason for him to believe that Asher came in peace.

"Asher, I hope that you know what day today is. If you're here trying to mess things up, I don't care whose grandson you are; I won't forgive you!" he said coldly.

Asher then smiled coldly and replied, "Is that so, hmm? I'll wait for it, then. Bring on the gift." Rose knew that Asher did not come here with kind intentions. However, she was not sure just what kind of tricks he was going to pull. Only when the face of a familiar woman appeared in front of their eyes did Rose have a shocking realization as her eyes narrowed.

It was Mikaela.

Rose finally realized that Asher was here to stop the engagement. However, how did Mikaela fall into Asher's hands? Did Garrett not tell her that Mikaela was properly disposed of?

"What's the meaning of this, Asher? Why did you take her here?" Garrett was instantly overcome with nervousness. If what happened between him and Mikaela was exposed, he would definitely be unable explain everything to the Lanes. "Guards! Throw them out right now!"

Her words were like a wave crashing into the rocky cliffs, leaving everyone present at the banquet shellshocked. If Mikaela and Garrett were only entangled in a physical relationship, then it would not be that serious. However, to think that she bore Garrett's child... The Lanes were a first-rate family, and they had a reputation to consider. They would not allow Garrett to have such bastard children on his own.

"Asher is very brutal. Not only did he cut off his own retreat, but he also made sure that the Schmidts had none. It's all up to the Lanes now."

"Young lady, you said that you have Garrett's child. Do you have any proof?" Xavier asked. "You're asking for the impossible. I have no proof until the child is born. However, I can swear in God's name that the child in my womb is indeed Garrett's. If you don't believe me, you can wait until I give birth to the child. However, who will take responsibility for the harm that I will suffer?" Mikaela argued.

"Ha! It's impossible for me to wait for the child's birth. Garrett and Maggie's engagement will be completed soon. You can't ask them to wait for your sake. I believe that if you do have Garrett's child, then you must have spent some time together. You should be able to give me some shred of evidence that you have done so. If you can't do that, then that means you're framing him! This can be considered as blackmail! We can call the police to arrest you!" Xavier huffed with his eyes narrowed.

Mikaela was forced upon by Garrett, so they had never spent any time together. Naturally, she could offer no such evidence. She said nothing, not knowing what to do. She then looked at Asher for help.

Asher laughed and said, "Mikaela, since Xavier is sure that you are framing Garrett, why not tell how you get pregnant in front of all the respectable members of the city right here and now? Let them all know just how low the scion of the Schmidts is willing to go. If the Schmidts don't care about their reputation, you don't have to be so shy about it."

Garrett was so angry that he lost control of his emotions. He rushed toward Asher and roared, "Asher! I'll kill you!"

"Garrett, come back!" Rose quickly tried to stop Garrett.

However, Garrett was consumed by his wrath and could not hear anyone else's voice. He made his way to Asher and was just going to give him a punch when Griffin suddenly kicked him and threw him right onto the ground. He then looked at Garrett in disdain and said, "How dare trash like you attempt to attack my boss! You can't even survive a hit!"

Just when Xavier was going to unleash his wrath, Mikaela suddenly yelled out, "You want to know how I got pregnant? Fine! I'll tell you! Garrett raped me!"

Mikaela's voice was very loud. It was just as Asher had said; if the Schmidts cared little about their reputation, there was no need for her to be so cowardly and paranoid.

The word 'rape' made everyone gasp in horror. Every type of expressions could be seen on their faces.

Rose could not help but sigh. Now that Asher had revealed everything, the Lanes would definitely feel the sting on their dignity. The engagement would also probably get called off. Mikaela became silent again. All she remembered was her trying to resist him... She never thought of planting any sort of evidence then.

When Xavier saw that Mikaela was being silent, he then said, "You have nothing else to say? If

you ask me, you're simply someone trying to frame Garrett! Security, call the police and arrest this shameless woman!"

"Asher!" Mikaela quickly turned to look at Asher.
