Salute To The General

Chapter 3511 Tempted

It was a starless moonlit night, and the refreshing moonlight, piercing through the branches, spilling onto the ground strewn with maple leaves, resembling a carpet of shattered jade.

Hepburn, in her high heels, walked under the desolate suburban tree shade.

She lifted her gaze to the full moon in the sky and sighed softly.

There was no one around, but if there was, they would surely be able to tell that she was missing someone.

Suddenly, Hepburn seemed to sense something amiss. The expression on her pretty face changed dramatically, and she turned around abruptly. As she stared coldly into the deepest, darkest part of the forest, she asked, "Who's there?"

There was no response, and Hepburn was rattled. Moments earlier, I felt an unusual aura emanating from behind me, setting off alarm bells in my heart. Now, however, I can't feel anything at all. Could it be that it was just my imagination playing tricks on me? Just when she thought she was mistaken, out of the darkness ahead, a tall and slender figure emerged, walking at a leisurely pace.

Her eyes widened, and her mood instantly became tense again.

It turned out to be a mysterious figure shrouded in a black cloak.

Hepburn asked warily, "Who are you?"

The mysterious figure's aged voice echoed in the air. "Ha! You don't need to know who I am. All you need to know is that I'm here to guide you out of your confusion."

Hepburn replied coldly, "I'm not lost, and I certainly don't need your guidance."

The mysterious person chuckled. "Is that so? Is unrequited love your labyrinth?"

Unrequited love? Hepburn's expression changed dramatically, warily watching the mysterious person in front of her. She then asked coldly again, "Who are you, really? Is this some kind of prank Lyanna put you up to? If that's the case, you ought to stop messing with me." The mysterious person denied it with a laugh. "I'm not someone your friend sent, and I'm certainly not messing with you."

Hepburn sneered, "You don't even dare to show me your face. Why should I trust you? Show me your face!"

With that, Hepburn moved swiftly as the wind, fast as lightning, ghostly and elusive, lunging toward the mysterious figure.

She wanted to forcibly lift the cloak of the mysterious person to see who that revered figure was.

However, although she was incredibly fast, her lightning-quick grab still came up empty.

"Haha! Your abilities are nothing in my eyes. Stop embarrassing yourself and put away your curiosity."

The mysterious person's voice echoed from behind her.

Such a terrifying speed! She was taken aback, swiftly turning around, only to find that the mysterious person was already standing a few meters behind her.

She didn't even see clearly how the mysterious person disappeared or how the mysterious person ended up behind her.

Hepburn searched through her

memories. In her impression, aside from Nathan, there seemed to be no other individual as formidable. Whe exactly is this incredibly powerful

inal? The person in front of me

has an aged voice, so he's clearly not Nathan. Who is he, really?

Hepburn's curiosity grew stronger, and the woman's unyielding spirit began to surface.

She scoffed. "I just don't believe it!"

With that, she once again dashed toward the mysterious person, even faster this time.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

She struck out several times in a row, using all her strength, but the mysterious person still managed to dodge with ease.

With a sense of helplessness, she

halted, her gaze complex as she looked at the mysterious figure who still maintained a few meters from her. Finally, she understood. The gap in their abilities was too vast and she couldn't even touch the hem of his garment.

"Who are you, really?" she questioned.

The mysterious person smiled and said, "I've told you. Who I am is not important. What's important is that I'm here to guide you out of confusion. If you really want

know, I can tell you my name. I'm

called Morgon."

Morgon revealed his own name, but he wasn't worried.

That was because he firmly believed that only Eugene IV knew his name, and others wouldn't be able to guess his identity or origins upon hearing it. That was why he dared to tell Hepburn his real name.

As expected, Hepburn remained utterly confused after hearing his name. Her eyes filled with an unshakeable bewilderment.

She had never heard of this name, nor could she recall such a formidable figure.

"What's your real purpose for seeking me out? I don't believe a word from a guy who doesn't dare to show his face and has an unknown background," she said.

Morgon chuckled. "It's okay if you don't believe me, but you could consider my advice. It might just help you solve your problem."

Instinctively, Hepburn wanted to refuse his offer.

However, she suddenly remembered what Morgon had said earlier about her unrequited love.

She couldn't help but hesitate for the first time. Many people know about my admiration for Mr. Cross, and I'm well aware of my own feelings. Yet, Mr. Cross is a married man, so there's definitely no future with him. That was her greatest inner turmoil.

She had intended to bury that secret deep within her heart and carry it to her grave.

But now, suddenly, someone stepped forward, telling her that there was a solution.

She couldn't help but feel a stir of excitement and a touch of curiosity.
