Chapter 1481
"Okay, hang tight, no peeking."
Kiran gently placed his hands over Sandy's eyes as they strolled forward. Sandy, growing impatient, blurted out, "Are we there yet, bro?"
"We're here," Kiran replied, removing his hands.
Sandy blinked and finally took in the full view of the mansion before her.
She had always dreamed of moving out from the Pollard family's home and had her heart set on this particular estate. But it always seemed out of reach, with an owner who refused to sell and a father who wasn't keen on her living elsewhere. Now, standing in front of the mansion with its stunning gardens and soft, glowing lights, Sandy was in awe. "Wow, Kiran... is this really the place you bought?"
"Do you love it?" Kiran asked, smiling. "I remembered it was your favorite."
"But... wasn't the owner adamant about not selling?" Sandy had tried, using the Pollard name and all, but the owner wouldn't budge.
Kiran shrugged casually, "I have my ways. If my little sister wants it, even if it's the stars in the sky, I'll figure out how to get them for you."
"Did you... do something to the owner?" Sandy hesitated, not finishing her thought.
A gentle smile played on Kiran's lips. "Come on, sis. You know I wouldn't go that far."
Yet, Sandy felt a twinge of unease.
In the past, a gift like this from Kiran would have felt like a natural expression of his love. But ever since she started spending time with Sophie, her perspective began to shift.
She realized the world wasn't just about throwing money around. The whims of the wealthy could ripple out, affecting many lives.
"What's the matter? Not like it?" Kiran asked.
"It's not that... it's just, maybe not as much anymore." The thought of how the mansion ended up with Kiran left her wondering just what the previous owner had endured, making it hard to enjoy the idea of living there.
Seeing her frown, Kiran reached out
to smooth the lines on her forehead. "Hey, my sister shouldn't be making that facez Remember, whatever you want, I make it happen. You just need to be our little princess, and I'll always have your back. Out here, you can have anything you desire, and no one will say no."
"Brother, I know you care deeply for me, but... why are you at odds with Sophie?" Sandy's voice was soft. "Even though I wasn't fond of her at first, I've grown to see her as a dear friend. If you and Sophie were ever at each other's throats, it would break my heart."
Kiran noticed the sadness in her eyes, and his smile faded a touch. "I promise you, as long as Sophie
doesn't cross me, I won't stir up
trouble And even if it gets tough, I'll spare them for you. Would that make you a bit happier?"
"Okay, but... are you really mixed up with The Silent Shadows?" Sandy carefully nudged, searching his face.
The mention of 'The Silent Shadows' wiped the smile from Kiran's face. "Who mentioned The Silent Shadows to you?"
"I... I overheard it. That day at the Aldridge's, I caught bits of your conversation," Sandy confessed.
