Remorse After Breaking Up (Sebastian)

Chapter 582

"What?" Sebastian was shocked. Even though he had lost his memory, he still found the rules absurd. "Why? Why should other men touch my bride?" He clenched his fists, and his eyes burned with rage. "Keep your voice down," Jenna said.

She pulled him inside the house and whispered, "I know it's hard for you to accept, but this is the rule. Lord Baldwin has the authority to decide our fate. If we don't comply, it's like a death sentence." Despite that, Sebastian struggled to accept it.

She continued, "Commoners like us have been through this before, so just accept our fate. The bride is usually taken to Baldwin Manor for a day or two, sometimes up to two weeks.

"But since Fressia is so beautiful, I doubt that debauched baron will let her go. Still, it shouldn't be more than a month. We'll bring her home once the time is up."

"I can't tolerate even a single day, let alone a whole month," he said angrily.

Jenna quickly urged him, "Don't do anything reckless. We can't afford to cross Lord Baldwin. Otherwise, you'd be putting all of us in grave danger."

Sebastian fell silent. If it were just him, he would refuse regardless of the risk. But he couldn't implicate his godmother.

She sighed and entered the room to persuade Fressia.

Fressia struggled to accept the harsh reality. But after Jenna's earnest persuasion, she tearfully agreed with a reluctant nod.

"Those inside the house, get out here now!"

Hubert grew increasingly impatient as he waited for the bride. His anger boiled over, and he smashed the table with his hand. The guests immediately scattered in fear. After hearing the commotion, Jenna hurriedly pulled Fressia outside. "Mr. Stone, please calm down. The bride is here."

Hubert was ready to lose his temper, but he was stunned when he saw Fressia. His entourage was equally shocked.

Fressia wore a brand new wedding gown with tassels on her head. Even with light makeup, she looked beautiful, like an angel.

The guests were spellbound, and their eyes widened in amazement. They had never seen a woman so stunning that a single glance could leave someone utterly captivated. As Jenna led Fressia closer, Hubert snapped out of his daze.

"I never knew such a beauty existed

in this godforsaken place. How did I miss this before?" He was overcome with regret. He would have done whatever it took to claim her for himself if he had known earlier.

Fressia was timid and kept hiding behind Jenna. "Miss, come with us."

Although reluctant, Fressia had no choice but to follow them.

Sebastian clenched his fists so tightly that they made a cracking sound. As a man, he found it humiliating that he couldn't protect his wife.

Yet, he couldn't stop them without risking disaster. According to Jenna, the entire village would suffer if he acted recklessly.

Hubert had arrived earlier on horseback, but he also had a sedan chair specially for the bride. After Fressia was seated in it, the group set off.

He and his men led the way at a slow pace. They were not only waiting for the sedan chair but also because they were reluctant to let go of their opportunity.

One of Hubert's men, Dudley, said, "Mr. Stone, this bride is so pretty. She looks like an angel. She's got me all worked up. Don't you feel the same way?" "Duh! Of course. I've thought about it," Hubert said.

He continued, "But her first night is reserved for Lord Baldwin. We'll have to wait until he's done with her When she leaves, we'll capture her and keep her locked up to enjoy at our leisure."

Dudley said, "I doubt we'll have the chance. With her beauty, Lord Baldwin might not just spend a month with her. He could keep her for more than ten years without getting tired of her. There's no way we'll get our turn."

The others nodded in agreement.
