Chapter PERFET 268
Chapter 268**
The old gentleman looked at Yasmine with some admiration, "You seem so gentle and fragile, but power." your words carry such
"If red wine isn't decanted, the flavor will be a notch lower, impacting the taste. If every waiter were as unprofessional as him, the entire wine tasting event would lose its original purpose because all the red wines would close up their bodies and lose their initial flavor." Yasmine said.
The old gentleman nodded repeatedly upon hearing this, "Then try these as well."
Yasmine didn't refuse since she had nothing else to do. She placed one of the glasses down, "This type of wine tastes a bit immature, as if it's not fully matured before being hurriedly presented." She set down another glass, "Though this wine has a strong grape aroma, once you get past that aroma, it lacks any real taste. This wine smells and tastes pretty good, but there's something off about the color."
The old gentleman looked approvingly at what Yasmine was saying; it was exactly what he wanted to say. He pulled Yasmine into a corner, ensuring no one else could see. He then took out a bottle of wine from his jacket. Holding it up proudly, he said, "This is my prized collection, give it a taste. I must admit, I'm a bit reluctant to part with it."
The two of them specifically called over a waiter and supervised him performing the decanting process. As he poured the red liquid into the glass, it seemed to scatter into different hues.
As soon as Yasmine opened the bottle, she could smell the aroma bursting from it. It was a rich blend of enchanting mocha, tobacco, and licorice. Her eyes lit up, "Is this the AeroVino Valor from Howling Eagle Winery?"
The old gentleman let out a hearty laugh, "You've got a good eye! This wine took a lot to make, it's from the 2011 vintage."
Yasmine looked at the wine in her glass with a bit of a heartache. Before knowing its value, she felt like a regular drinker stumbling upon a great treasure. "It's so expensive, and you just opened it like that?"
The old man nodded and said, "I can't quite understand the mentality of those who collect wine just to keep it. Wine is made to be enjoyed, and if you can't savor it, it would be a regret for this bottle."
Yasmine carefully lifted her glass and took a small sip, praising, "No wonder it's the AeroVino Valor, this is a hundred times better than any wine I've had today or yesterday."
The old gentleman said proudly, "Of course. The wines displayed here aren't bad in quality either, just slightly better. The best ones are kept for last. Besides, the big shots have already decided, no one would actually put out the top-tier ones. I bet none of theirs is as good as this." On the other side, Irene was glaring viciously at Yasmine. The people around her sneered along, "Oh my God, it's so gross, she's actually talking to someone that old."
"Could she be talking to that person on purpose?"
"Even if she wanted to solve the problems at the Sanchez family, she wouldn't need to find a beggar, right?" Their idle chatter was full of malice. Yasmine didn't mind and continued her conversation with the old gentleman, "Sir, why did you bring your own bottle of wine to the tasting event?"
"I brought a few bottles hoping to find someone who appreciates them with me, and it seems I've found one," the old said.
"Me?" Yasmine giggled, "So you're saying I'm your companion."
Before Yasmine even finished her first glass, Lucy dashed over, excitement all over her face. "I just gave Chuck a good

beating earlier. If it weren't-for the fact that he's busy now, I wouldn't have let him off. Wait!" Lucy took a sharp sniff. "This, this is AeroVino Valor! I smell Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, and there's a hint of plum in the air."
Lucy suddenly turned to Yasmine. "Where's the wine?" Just the scent made her mouth water; such wines weren't common.
After hearing her words, the old gentleman had already decided to let her drink the wine.
"I have to drink more while I can; who knows when I'll get to taste AeroVino Valor again!" Lucy exclaimed.
The old gentleman found her words amusing and laughed.
The three of them were enjoying their drinks, and the music started playing in the hall. Even at a wine tasting, dancing was a must. While the three continued drinking, Yonas extended his hand towards Irene amidst the attention of everyone, "Ms. White, would you like to dance?"
Irene, feeling a bit shy, faced his polite smile and gracefully placed her hand into Yonas's.
Yasmine sat quietly on the side; she had witnessed the entire scene. Though it no longer concerned her, seeing Yonas invite Irene, who accepted, felt like her heart was being torn apart.
The old gentleman noticed her demeanor and pointed to someone behind her. "This person has been watching you for a long time. I don't know what their intention is, but you should be careful."
Lucy spat twice, "Yasmine is his ex-wife."
The old gentleman's eyes widened instantly, "Ex-wife? He's been secretly watching you with some deep emotion. Why don't you..."
"He's married now," Yasmine replied softly.
The old gentleman's gaze turned disdainful, "What a cheat!"
Lucy mimicked him, "Yeah, a real cheat."
Just then, Chuck suddenly appeared, "Let's get out of here and dance." Lucy's heart leapt with joy as she placed her hand in his and they moved onto the dance floor. Yasmine looked at the lonely stage, with the silent Xavier and the old man. Everyone went off to dance, leaving just Yasmine and the elderly gentleman behind.
Suddenly, a hand reached out, "Yasmine, care to dance?" It was Xavier's voice.
Without a second thought, Yasmine refused, "No need, Xavier. You have a wife, please be considerate."
The old gentleman stood up and made an elaborate, gentlemanly bow, "May I have this dance, young lady?"
"Sure," Yasmine just wanted to get away quickly. She placed her hand in the old gentleman's, and they both stepped into the crowd.
Xavier clenched his fists tightly. Why didn't Yasmine like him? The more he couldn't have something, the more vexing it was. Among the dancing crowd, Yasmine constantly exuded charm. He admitted he regretted it immensely.
If Xavier had a second chance, he wouldn't have divorced so impulsively. But 'if' was just something that could never be true. He was already divorced from Yasmine, and the figure he was fixated on swayed gracefully, radiating allure and charm. F with all these people in between, his mind repeated one thought she would never be his again.
