Chapter 12-Prophecy
**~Octavius~**
This can't be the man who cared for me for over half of my life. He has never given me a reason not to trust him, but now has shown the utmost disrespect. I'll be sure to get the answers I need before I snap his neck. Niko opens the cell for me
as I put on gloves.
"You're making a mistake! You should have rejected her!" Doctor Green is sweating profusely.
"Why the hell would we reject our mate? The Fates made her for us for a reason." It seems I won't have to beat the information out of him.
"The prophecy! She said I must kill her!" I don't even recognize him. His eyes are cold, and his body is fidgeting.
"Who said it? What is the prophecy?" It has to be a witch. I wish he would get to the fucking point.
"It's a Tribrid. She's here to ensure Hazel dies. If I do not execute it, she will kill me!" I feel my heart sink into my stomach. How did a Tribrid get into my territory? A Tribrid is the last being I would want to deal with, but I will do anything to protect our people and my family.
"What does Hazel have to do with it?" He becomes still for a second.
"She has everything to do with the prophecy. There will be no more territories. No one will be safe." He whispers the last sentence, and a chill rolls down my spine.
"How would her death prevent this from happening? If a war breaks out, then so be it. We will prepare for whatever is coming." Val and I know there is some form of conflict rising between the territories, but we have no solid evidence of it. Now, things are becoming clear. Doctor green takes a few seconds to gather himself.
"The prophecy says the Lycan queen of mortal descent will start the war of three thousand deaths. There will be no surviving Tribrids, and the territory we promised to protect will be overrun. That is all the information she gave me, but if I can save three thousand people and keep our territories intact, then that is what I will do." Mortal grounds is the territory we swore to protect. I wish he knew who would be taking over and why. To hell with the territories staying intact! We will figure this out.
I
"Is there anything else I should know?" He shakes his head and avoids eye contact. I give Niko the look he's been waiting for, and he chains Doctor Green up to the wall by his wrists and ankles. He started to fight against Niko, but he quickly realized it was useless. I open the bag Niko brought containing the water infused with wolfsbane and open the lid. Doctor Green knows what's about to happen and begins to scream, giving me the perfect opportunity to shove the open bottle into his mouth. When I pull it away, he's choking and gasping for air. I know the liquid feels like fire in his throat because the splash he caused landed on my wrist. I'm too enraged to care about it. I'll let him burn and thirst for relief until I feel like doing it one more time.
After twenty minutes of watching his silent crying, Niko forced his mouth open so that I could empty the rest of the bottle in his mouth and over his face. Niko was smart enough to wear long, plastic gloves because he assumed things would get messy. Doctor Green's face is blistering already. I can imagine how bad his throat is. I would let him suffer longer, but I'm getting bored and need to get back to my women. With a quick snap, I take him out of his misery. Back in the room, Val and Hazel are asleep together. Seeing Val helpless this week has worn me down, but I couldn't let it show. Hazel being in this condition has taken a toll on both of us, and I'm glad Val was smart enough to sniff out danger before it was too late. She saved Hazel's life.
I step outside of our bedroom and go a little down the hallway to call my father. I explain what happened to Hazel, the prophecy, and the death of his good friend. He believes I handled Doctor Green too gently and should have made him suffer more, but I value my time. Mom and Dad will be staying here for the next two weeks to help keep an eye on Hazel and Lucas. I also want to keep them close until we figure out where the Tribrid is and see if we can work out an agreement. I have a feeling I already know which Tribrid had the bravery to invade my territory, but I will contact King Coolidge to see if he knows anything. It is unlike him to allow something like this to happen, so I hope he will be helpful instead of declaring war.
I go back into the room because it's almost time for dinner. I'll have one of the house staff bring our meals to our room, but I'll feel bad for eating in front of Hazel. She must be starving for some real food. I'm pissed that she is even missing out on meals with us because of a stupid ass prophecy and an even more stupid doctor.
"Wake up, Val. Dinner is on the way." She stretches, and her eyes flutter.
"I'm awake, but I'm not hungry. Is it done?" I know she's asking about Doctor Green.
"Yeah, it's done. You awake, Hazel?" Her heart is beating stronger now than when I was in here last.
*I'm awake. I'm starting to feel more up my arms and legs. Doctor Dickhead didn't inject me today, thanks to Val showing up. Can you take this damn oxygen mask off of me? I don't even need it.*
I take off the mask, and she takes a deep breath. The monitor isn't going crazy, and the oxygen is stable, so I guess she was right.
*Thank you. I can't wait to take a shower.*
"As soon as you get feeling from the waist down, we'll have the catheter removed and give you a nice shower. You seem to be progressing quickly." She's a lycan now, so fast healing is expected.
"I want her to sleep in our bed tonight. She needs to be comfortable." Val hasn't been sleeping well without her in our bed. To be honest, I haven't either.
"I agree." I need to get a nurse in here to take care of the things Val and I aren't qualified to do. We know how to feed her through the tube, but we can't remove it or the catheter. Thankfully, I know just the person.
