Chapter 2348
Preslie sighed as a thought came to her mind.
If it weren't for Tremaine, would Kylin and Yesseca be happily living their lives right now?
It was very likely.
After all, Kylin loved Yesseca so much and he had a gentle temperament.
He would care for her as long as he lived and never let her suffer.
On the second floor, Yesseca was cleaning the table. When she heard the sound of someone coming upstairs, she thought that it was Preslie. "You can focus on taking care of the customers downstairs. I'll be done in ten minutes and come down..." Just then, she paused.
The person in front of her was a gentle, energetic young man in a white shirt and blue jeans.
It was Kylin.
"Kylin, why are you here?"
"I've come to see you." He looked at her with tenderness in his eyes, saying, "Long time no see."
Yesseca smiled embarrassedly. "Come on. You don't have to fly all the way here to see me. How are you?"
"Very good. What about you?"
"I'm fine too."
"That's good." Kyi in sat down. "Sit with me if you have time."
Yesseca put down the cloths in her hand and sat across from Kylin.
"What do you think of my new store? It's quite big and pretty, right? We have customers flooding in every day, and sometimes, Preslie and I don't seem enough to manage it anymore." It was clear that she wanted him to know that she was doing fine. "We're thinking of recruiting some help soon because we just had a big order. If we have more staff in the future, we might even open up another branch."
"That's good." He smiled, "Congratulations on having your career and doing what you like to do."
She nodded. "Thank you. Every day seems so fulfilling and happy now."
"I'm happy to hear that. And so I have a gift for you." He took out a box.
Immediately, she waved her hand. "You don't have to do this, Kylin. I can't accept it." "It's okay. It's nothing expensive." Kylin signaled to Yesseca with his eyes. "Open it and take a look."
She thought for a moment before opening the box.
Sure enough, it wasn't anything expensive.
There were candies and chocolate inside.
"Thank you," she said.
Since they were not expensive, she would gladly accept the gift.
If it was something valuable, she would not accept it.
"I know you like these, so I specially bought them for you," Kylin said.
Yesseca's heart thumped.
She was like a child who could never grow up. She always loved sweets, but she never expected him to remember.
She looked at him and saw him smiling back at her.
The smile on his face was as warm as the spring breeze.
She felt a ripple in her heart.
In a trance, she felt like they had returned back in time.
Back when they first met.
He was still that gentle young man with a warm smile.
Yesseca's mouth moved.
She wanted to ask if Kylin was doing well.
But she felt that there was no point in asking.
She knew he would lie and say he was fine even if he wasn't.
She wanted to ask again if he had a girlfriend now, but she dared not.
She was afraid of feeling guilty if he said no.
Then, it would make him uncomfortable.
In the end, Yesseca simply did not ask anything.
"Have you heard about that?" Kylin asked.
Hearing these words, she had a feeling of what he was going to say next.
She licked her lips. "Do you mean what's about to happen in Nashaland?"
"Yes." He said directly, "Tremaine is getting married."
He didn't want to make her
uncomfortable by saying this to her. He knew that she would find out about this sooner or later. He couldn't hide it at all.
He was worried that she would be hurting because of this matter.
Therefore, he came here specially to confirm her feelings.
If Yesseca still didn't know, he would tell her about it.
After all, it was better to know sooner than later.
If she was sad, he would stay here for some time and help her get through it.
Yesseca smiled.
She had long known that Tremaine was getting married and had already processed her feelings.
What's more, now that Kylin was here, she had to act as if nothing had happened.
She said, "I found out some time ago that he's getting married to the daughter of some important official. I wish nothing but the best to him." Kylin stared at her face. He saw that no trace of sadness was on her smiling face.
He then looked into her eyes.
Her eyes were calm.
Only then did he heave a sigh of relief.
It seemed that this matter had little impact on her.
That was good.
He was afraid she would break down knowing Tremaine was marrying someone else.
Since Yesseca wasn't affected by this matter, Kylin was about to leave.
He stood up and said, "I came here to check on you. But seeing that you're fine, I'll be leaving."
She was a bit surprised. "You're leaving so early?"
It had not been long since they started talking and he was leaving?
"Yes," He explained with a smile. "I'm working in a company in the United States, so I didn't take many days off this time. I'm going back to work now."
"I'll see you off then," she said.
When they arrived downstairs, she suddenly thought of something.
She said, "Kylin, let me offer you all these pastries so you can have them on the way back."
He smiled and said, "I can't finish all this."
"It's okay. You don't have to finish
them in one go. Share them with
your colleagues." With that said, she
turned and asked Preslie to pack the remaining pastries in the store.
Seeing that Yesseca's store was almost emptied, Kylin said, "How are you going to run your business for the rest of the day if you give me everything?" Yesseca said, "We can always close up earlier
today."
These words warmed Kylin's heart.
He couldn't help but reach out and stroke the loose hair on Yesseca's head. "Alright, I'll accept your kindness. Take care of yourself, alright?"
Seeing the concern in his eyes, she nodded hard.
When the pastries were all packed, Kylin walked out of the shop with a few bags in his hands.
Yesseca followed him out.
He said to her, "Here is enough. I'm taking the taxi to the airport."
After saying that, he waved at her and turned to leave.
Staring at his back, she suddenly felt a lump in her throat.
Her past with Kylin flashed across her mind like a movie.
Soon, another person appeared in Yesseca's mind.
It was Lothar.
Yesseca was started.
Hadn't Kylin always been like Lothar, caring for her like a brother?
