Mommy,We Got a Husband

Chapter 447 I Told You to Get Lost

Stellan spent the whole day looking after Rowena at the hospital.

"Stellan, I've already hired a caregiver. She'll be here soon. You should focus on your work."

Stellan was a CEO now, and Rowena didn't want to waste her time.

"Why hire someone when I'm here? It's just for a couple of days. Once Cormac finishes his work, you won't be able to hide that you're on bed rest. By then, even if I want to, I got no chance." She had to admit Stellan was right. If Cormac found out she was on bed rest, he'd be so worried he'd stay with her all day.

"Griffon's funeral is today," Rowena said, feeling guilty. "Cormac is handling it alone. I should be there to help him, but instead, I'm just making things worse."

"Don't say that. It's not your fault," Stellan said. "Griffon's funeral is today. I wonder if Alaric will go?"

She took out Alaric's phone. If he went today, would she lose track of him again?

Suddenly, Stellan understood. Alaric didn't ask for his phone before leaving because he wanted some peace and quiet, right?

Griffon had a bad reputation while he was alive, so his funeral wasn't going to be grand. But those who were interested knew it was today.

Stuart called Ambrose to his office. Ambrose was nervous, fearing it was about the video Neil had shown him.

"Dad, what's up?" Ambrose asked cautiously.

"Today is Griffon's funeral. You know that, right?"

Relieved it wasn't about the surveillance video, Ambrose replied, "Yeah, I heard. Apparently, Griffon was released on bail because of a serious illness."

"He died just days after being released. Now, Cormac is the last one left in the Nash family," Stuart said with a hint of satisfaction. "Serves them right."

"Ambrose, get ready. You're coming with me."

Ambrose was shocked. "Dad, are you serious? Griffon was a convicted felon. Even Cormac chose to hold a private funeral. Do we really have to go?" "Why did he choose a private funeral? To avoid embarrassment. If no one shows up, how could he be embarrassed?"

Stuart's eyes darkened with hatred. "Alaric will definitely be there. I don't want him to be happy. They killed Todd. Why should they live well?"

"I get it," Ambrose said.

Since Stuart wanted to embarrass them, they should bring more people, not just spectators but also media reporters.

The weather was terrible today, with dark clouds making the cemetery even gloomier.

Besides Alaric and Cormac, only a few funeral home staff were present, making the atmosphere very somber.

"Did Griffon leave any last words?" Alaric asked.

"He was in too much pain to speak at the end. Before that, he kept asking me to find out the truth about Orion's car accident. I promised him I would. I also told him Rowena is pregnant, and only then did he truly pass away." That word "Dad" was a comfort to him in his final moments.

"Did you ask Aurora about Orion's accident?"

"Yeah, and there's some new info. Looks like Matthew might've been bribed, but I have no clue who'd want to hurt Orion."

Cormac continued, "After the funeral, I'm planning to visit Neil. Even though he's not on the case, he's a good cop-honest and tough. If I tell him there's something fishy about the case, he might reopen it." Mentioning Neil made Alaric pause. Neil was definitely a stand-up guy, willing to go the extra mile for justice.

Just as Alaric was about to say something, he heard footsteps. Turning around, he saw a group of uninvited guests.

"Mr. Nash, such an important event as your father's funeral, and you didn't inform anyone? Holding such a simple funeral is disrespectful to the deceased," Stuart said.

He had brought along Ambrose, Tommy, and several others, including media reporters.

"Stuart, why'd you bring so many people here?" Cormac asked. "To mock us or cause trouble? Either way, you're not welcome!"

"Mr. Nash, you misunderstand," Ambrose said. "My father is genuinely saddened by Griffon's passing and came to pay his respects."

"You come to my mother's funeral, and now you're here for my father's. Stuart, you must have a lot of free time," Alaric said.

"I'm very busy, but I have to make time for significant events," Ambrose responded.

"Exactly. We came with good intentions. Griffon was a notable figure. How could his funeral be so simple? So we brought employees from Far East International to pay their respects," Ambrose added. After Ambrose spoke, the reporters started filming.

"Stop it!" Cormac angrily scolded. "I said no one is welcome here today. Leave now!"

"Mr. Nash, we're sincerely here to pay our respects. We'll leave once we're done," Tommy said.

"I don't need your respects. I told you to leave. Do you understand?"

"Mr. Nash, why so angry? We'll leave soon."

Ambrose signaled the reporters to keep filming, and Stuart led the group to the grave, pretending to pay their respects.

Cormac blocked them, knowing they were here to mock. How could he let them succeed?

"Get out!" he exclaimed impatiently.

"Cormac, you're really ungrateful. We're here to pay respects at such a miserable funeral, and you should be grateful. What do you mean?"

Ambrose pushed Cormac aside and walked forward, only to be stopped by Alaric.

Facing Alaric's gaze, Ambrose remembered the notes. Ambrose thought to himself, 'Didn't Alaric just have a treatment yesterday? He should be weak and vulnerable today, right?' "Mr. Knight, please step aside. Don't delay us..." Ambrose said, pushing Alaric, but unexpectedly,

As soon as he touched Alaric, Alaric swiftly twisted his arm, a clear sound of bone breaking, then pressed his knee down, pinning Ambrose to the ground, unable to move.

"I told you to leave. Don't you understand?!" Alaric demanded sternly.
