Mommy,We Got a Husband

Chapter 155 My Marriage is Up to Me

Ambrose was feeling extremely irritated at the moment, with a deep sense of resentment.

Alaric was clearly being deliberate, but what surprised him the most was Stellan. She seemed indifferent to the past events involving Storm's Family and now was so in love with Alaric! Impossible!

Stellan had only known Alaric for a short time, whereas she had been with Ambrose for so many years before.

It couldn't be true. Stellan must be intentionally trying to provoke him!

His Stellan couldn't have changed her heart!

Galatea was now regretting her past blindness. She had loved Ambrose to the point of obsession before but now realized he wasn't worth it.

Fortunately, her relationship with Ambrose had come to a definitive end; there would be no possibility of any future connection. Since she was now with Alaric, she would devote herself wholeheartedly to him. Galatea had put a lot of effort into preparing a loving lunch for Alaric, filled with all his favorite dishes.

"Do you make all of this?" At lunchtime, Alaric arrived at the dining room and was genuinely surprised to see the table full of food.

"Yes, try it and see if it suits your taste?" Galatea smiled tenderly.

"I'm not a pig. Why did you make so much?" Alaric teased.

"Just wanted to pamper you a bit, ended up making too much by accident." Galatea chuckled.

"Caspian told me to be frugal, and it's a waste to have so many dishes that we can't finish." Alaric suddenly remembered Caspian's advice.

"Mr. Knight Junior saying such things really reflects the good upbringing he's received from you." Galatea remarked. "I did make a bit too much this time, and it's wasteful. I'll be more careful next time."

Alaric couldn't help but smile and then sat down at the table with Galatea.

"When you mentioned Caspian earlier, when do you plan to introduce me to him?" Halfway through the meal, Galatea looked at Alaric and asked.

"Caspian is currently injured and confined to bed rest, with Mrs. Marigold by his side."

Alaric had already called the mansion, and the staff confirmed that Mrs. Marigold was with Caspian, showering him with affection.

Alaric understood Mrs. Marigold's intentions. Despite her stern demeanor, she doted excessively on the Knight family's children, confirming that Caspian was indeed a number of the Knight family and thus subject to her indulgence. What puzzled him was that Mrs. Marigold had previously doubted Caspian's lineage.

"Caspian is injured. How did it happen?" Galatea was surprised to hear this and quickly inquired.

"He slipped in the bathroom and fell, resulting in a fracture."

"A fall causing a fracture?" Galatea found it unbelievable. "Usually, such incidents happen to elderly people, not to a young child like Caspian, who has had good nutrition since childhood. How could he fracture a bone from a simple fall?"

"I don't know the details of how Caspian fell. Despite his young age, he's quite proud and won't disclose the specifics."

"Isn't that just like you?"

Alaric smiled wryly. "Yes, he takes after me."

"Caspian is injured. Should I go see him?" Galatea asked anxiously, genuinely concerned about Caspian's condition.

"Let's wait until Caspian is better before visiting. Mrs. Marigold is there, after all." Alaric pondered for a moment, replying.

Alaric hadn't informed Mrs. Marigold about his intention to marry Galatea yet. Regardless of Mrs. Marigold's approval or not, he was determined to go through with it.

However, considering Mrs. Marigold was his mother, he felt it necessary to inform her in advance about such a significant decision. He was concerned that abruptly bringing Galatea to the Knight family might strain the relationship between Galatea and Mrs. Marigold.

"Alright, that was my oversight."

Galatea had been fearless in her interactions with Mrs. Marigold before, but now she was genuinely nervous.

"Alaric, they say Mrs. Marigold is very strict and has high expectations for your wife. Given the current situation, she might strongly oppose our relationship, right?"

After asking this, Galatea's anxiety grew even more. If Mrs. Marigold strongly objected, it wouldn't bode well.

"Don't worry, I'll convince Mrs. Marigold. Even if I can't persuade her, I decide to find a wife, not hers. No one can interfere, even my mother."

"While that's true, marriages without parental blessings are incomplete. Besides, you mentioned that Mrs. Marigold is quite authoritative. If you confront her like this, she might cut ties with you. If my presence affects your relationship with Mrs. Marigold, I'll be a sinner." Galatea expressed her concerns.

"Why carry such a burden? These are not your concerns. Leave everything to me, and I'll handle it." Alaric reassured her, holding Galatea's hand and comforting her. "Trust me."

Those words provided Galatea with a great sense of security, instantly calming her nerves.

"Alright." Galatea smiled and then said, "I'll start your treatment now. Arrange your work first. Normally, this kind of treatment would require hospitalization, but considering your workload and my availability, I'll treat you at the office. You must cooperate well."

"Don't worry, I'll cooperate well."

"There's one thing I need to mention beforehand. The treatment won't be easy, even though I've minimized the side effects of the medication." Galatea cautioned.

Alaric chuckled and said, "I'm not a three-year-old child. You don't have to be so cautious. I could bear the pain of this treatment."

"I know you're tough." Galatea said. "I'll go home now to prepare and gather the necessary treatment tools."

"Alright, I'll also go home first to see Caspian."

"Okay, please give my regards to Caspian."

After finishing their meal, Galatea and Alaric went their ways. Alaric returned to the Knight family villa, expecting to find Harry receiving treatment in considerable pain.
