Mommy,We Got a Husband

Chapter 110 Alaric, You're Quarrelsome!

Upon Cormac's question, Alaric remained silent.

Cormac figured out everything from his expression. Then he said, "Can't you just be a little more flexible? Apologize to Galatea is a good way."

After saying that, Cormac took out his phone and said, "I'll call Galatea now."

"Dare you!" Alaric was reprimanded immediately.

Cormac had no choice but to put down his phone and look at him. "Do you insist not to tell her the truth?"

"She is no longer my private doctor," Alaric said. "My health has nothing to do with her."

"Are you completely breaking up with Galatea? Is it that serious? Did you guys break up?" Cormac asked.

After asking this question, Cormac met Alaric's dagger-like gaze and immediately shut.

"Although you escaped death this time. You need to stop working and rest for at least a week."

Alaric remained silent.

Seeing Alaric's unwillingness, Cormac tried to provoke him. "If you don't do as I said, your body will be ruined. And your love rival is right beside you. If Ambrose finds out about your condition, then he..." "Cormac, are you looking for trouble?"

Cormac quickly disguised a smile and said, "I'm just speaking the truth. Don't worry. Silas has been with you for so many years that there won't be any leaks about work matters. I am familiar with the stuff in this hospital, and they will keep it confidential."

"Okay," Alaric said. "I will stay in the hospital for a week."

"That's right," Cormac said, "Someone will come to bring you food later. I have to leave now. I've been here with you for two days. I have to visit my mom now."

Alaric suddenly remembered something and hurriedly said, "Wait a second."

"Mr. Alaric, do you have any other instructions?" Cormac asked.

"The other day, Mia said Galatea was out all day and came back in dawn. And suddenly, there was a lot of money in her account. I'm worried about this." Alaric said.

Galatea transferred seven hundred thousand directly to him, which means she must have even more money. How could she earn so much money overnight? There's no such thing as a pie falling from the sky.

Hearing Alaric's words, Cormac gave a wicked smile and asked, "What? Worried that she was deceived?"

"Don't waste your breath. Go and investigate!" Alaric said impatiently.

"Alright, Mr. Alaric. I will do as you say." Cormac quipped, "You're quarrelsome!"

Then Cormac walked out. After Cormac left, Alaric closed his eyes. He had experienced this feeling of escaping death before. He was used to fighting against the Grim Reaper. But this time, when his consciousness was about to disappear, the person he thought of was not Mrs. Marigold or Caspian. Surprisingly, it was Galatea. It was said that the person you think of before you die is the one you are concerned about the most, but why was it Galatea that came to mind at that moment?

Over the past few days, Alaric hasn't called or come to see her. Galatea is enjoying some peace. She has been in her shop all day, and now the renovation has started. She has had to supervise it herself.

"Master, raise this cabinet a little higher on this side," Galatea said. Galatea immediately pointed it out when she noticed even the slightest problem.

Although she wasn't directly involved in the renovation, she felt even busier than the workers. She ran up and down the stairs constantly.

Ambrose noticed her every move. Denny had already found a house for Ambrose. Standing by the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, Ambrose could easily see Galatea inside the shop through the telescope. People from Nexus Innovations said that Alaric had gone on a business trip, and Ambrose no longer needed to go to his company to report his work. He would stay at the construction site during the day and then return home. Sitting in front of the window, drinking coffee, and using the telescope to observe Galatea, Ambrose wondered if she was happy struggling for her career.

The workers were working late into the night. After they finished their shift, Galatea tidied up a bit and then sat down on a chair, feeling exhausted. She took a deep breath and took out her phone.

Galatea had already posted Mrs. Marigold's information online. After two days, she wanted to see if anyone had responded, and indeed, someone had replied. But it was all unrelated information, and some people even asked if there was a reward. It was really ridiculous.

Ambrose watched Galatea, who was quietly looking at her phone. He guessed what she was looking at. Did she see the photos of them before?

Galatea rested for a while and prepared to go home early to sleep. But just as she was about to leave, the door suddenly kicked open.

Two burly men entered, each holding a stick and with tattoos on their bodies. They looked like street toughs.

"What are you doing here?" Galatea asked.

"You're the owner of this shop?" one of them asked.

Galatea gathered her courage and asked, "Why are you asking? Who are you? I don't know you. Get out of here!"

"Bang!" As soon as Galatea finished speaking, one of the men smashed a cup with his stick and then menacingly said, "This street belongs to our Brother Timothy. If you open a shop on this street, you have to pay us protection money. Your store looks quite big, so at least a hundred thousand. I'll come to collect it tomorrow. Otherwise..."

As soon as he finished the words, he smashed the chair that Galatea was sitting on.

Weren't these the kind of bad guys you only see on TV? Did they actually come to collect protection money?

"Extorting protection money is illegal. I can sue you!" Galatea exclaimed.

"Sue us?" one of them grabbed Galatea's collar. "You bitch! It's better to pay us the money. If you can't pay the hundred thousand protection fee tomorrow, we'll smash your shop."

After giving her the warning, the man forcefully pushed her away and swaggered out of the shop.

It took a while for Galatea to recover from the shock. Galatea couldn't believe she had encountered such a thing as being extorted for protection money.

Meanwhile, the two men who had left were feeling pleased.

"We would've thought the owner was just a woman. It is easy." One of them said.

"Yeah, that's good. We'll have another hundred thousand in no time," the other replied happily.

Just as they finished speaking, they heard a chilling voice behind them demanding, "Repeat what you just said!"

Seeing the man suddenly appear, they were infuriated. They cursed, "Who the hell are you? How dare you talk to us like this? Do you know who we are... Agh!"

Before he could finish his sentence, there was a crisp sound followed by a scream. His arm was already twisted, and his entire body was firmly pressed against the ground.
