Married at First Sight

Chapter 2007

Jasmine said angrily, “Seren, you don’t have to mind what others say. It’s fine as long as Zachary and his family aren’t urging
you. Besides, you can’t be blamed for not getting pregnant. Who knows? It can be Zachary’s problem too.
“He did reject you when you mentioned getting a checkup.”
Jasmine believed there were no issues with Serenity’s and Zachary’s bodies, but outsiders kept saying that her best friend was a
hen that could not lay eggs. Therefore, she could not help but get angry.
Why did they not say it was Zachary’s problem?
It was unfair.
Why would people always blame the woman whenever a couple could not have children after trying for a long time?
“I used to mind, but I don’t care what others say now. Maybe I’ve become numb after hearing a lot.”
Serenity had become indifferent.
When she heard her friend getting angry for her sake, she smiled and said, “Don’t let Zachary hear you, Jasmine. He’s healthy. If
you were to say he has a problem, I’m the one who’ll get unlucky.”
Jasmine said, “I’ll only talk about it with you. I won’t doubt Zachary directly in front of him as long as he doesn’t blame you.”
Her tolerance toward Zachary would only hold if he did not suspect her best friend.
“You’ve stayed in FC Manor for a few days and were surrounded by Jane’s luck. Maybe you’ll be pregnant soon. Anyway, don’t
worry. I trust that you’re fine.”
Serenity brought the washed fruits out and placed them on the cashier counter. She called her friend, “Come and have fruits. You
don’t have to get so angry. The most important thing for you now is to nurture the baby happily.
“I’m the godmother of the child in your womb. Being a godmother is no different.”
Jasmine walked over and sat opposite Serenity. While eating a fruit, she asked, “Is Grandma May not back yet?”
“She couldn’t bear to leave Chloe, so she’s staying there for a few more days.”

Jasmine smiled. “I knew it. Grandma May wished to have a daughter when she was young. After becoming a grandmother, she
hoped for a granddaughter, and now she’s looking forward to having a great-granddaughter. She might even have considered
taking Jane’s daughter back to raise her here.”
“Nana adores Chloe a lot. Chloe is docile too. She doesn’t cry much. In contrast, her brother likes to cry. He starts wailing the
moment he opens his eyes.”
Serenity took her phone out and showed Jasmine a picture she had taken at FC Manor. She took many pictures of the babies.
There were Jane’s two children and Tina’s twin boys. Lilian’s son was still with his mother, so Serenity did not manage to get his
picture.
Jasmine scrolled through the babies’ pictures. She said with a smile, “No wonder Grandma May doesn’t want to return from FC
Manor. With those cute babies around, she might even extend her short stay of a few days to several months.”
Serenity laughed. “It isn’t just Nana. Even I wanted to stay there longer too. Sonny also didn’t want to come back, but he had to
attend preschool and could not stay. Zachary was urging me every day as well, so I had no choice but to come back earlier.”
“By the way, what was Zachary’s reaction when you told him about the pictures? Josh already investigated the matter. The man
has a similar build and back as Zachary, but their features don’t look alike at all. He was simply an ordinary person who does
food delivery.”
