Chapter 3216 Demand a Person
At the entrance of the Gloam Division's command center, two Aerial Legion soldiers stood firm, unmoved by Kurtis' overwhelming presence. They didn't utter a word or budge an inch as if their bodies were fused with the ground beneath them. There was only one way to get these soldiers to retreat empty-handed-beat them down so hard they couldn't stand back up.
Kurtis eyed the two tall, resolute soldiers in front of him, his anger boiling over. Two measly soldiers think they can just ignore me?!
But when he thought of Aelion, Kurtis forced himself to suppress his emotions and sneered, "Alright then, since you've come all the way here, I'll give your general-in-chief a little respect." He paused, then barked, "Bring Raeford out here!"
Two guards dragged out a man who was covered in wounds and had long since lost consciousness. His blood had soaked through the Gloam Division uniform, and fresh drops still fell to the ground as they brought him forward. Thud!
The guards tossed the man in front of the Aerial Legion soldiers. The impact of his body hitting the ground made a dull thud.
"Hobo! Is this Raeford?"
The scruffy man, who had been standing behind the two Aerial Legion soldiers, stepped forward. After just a glance, he shook his head and said, "Sirs, he's not Raeford. I swear on my life that even if he were chopped into pieces and turned to ash, I'd still recognize him!" The scruffy man's sorrowful tone darkened Kurtis' expression. He immediately issued a threat. "You lowlife, are you sure this isn't Raeford?"
The scruffy man shook his head vehemently, his bloodshot eyes glaring at Kurtis like a wolf.
If it hadn't been for Kurtis, the Sorrow of Montiria never would have happened.
"Commander Hale, please don't try to fool us with a fake Raeford!" one of the Aerial Legion soldiers said in a loud, clear voice.
"The Aerial Legion really doesn't fear these Gloam Wing dogs one bit..."
"Hahaha, looks like those idiots in Gloam Wing are dumbstruck!"
"From now on, we don't have to fear Gloam Wing anymore. If anything happens, we can just go to the Aerial Legion!"
The crowd's murmuring and gossip
clenched so hard they almost
only fueled Kurtis' rage, and his teeth
cracked. Is this how little respect
the Aeral Legion has for Gloam Wing? Remember, it's a small world. What goes around comes around."
"Commander Hale, please hand over the real Raeford, or our general will have to come in person," the Aerial Legion soldier warned, invoking Aelion's name. "Fine, I'll remember you two. Watch over your families," Kurtis spat through clenched teeth, his eyes boring into the two soldiers as if to imprint their faces into his memory.
"That won't be necessary, Commander Hale. We're both orphans-no parents, no family."
"Huh, very well. Bring Raeford out!" Kurtis' face twisted into a venomous scowl, glaring down at the soldiers and the crowd.
Soon, Raeford was brought out, his face pale as he was forcibly dragged forward by two guards.
"Commander Hale, it was you who ordered me to-" Raeford didn't get to finish his sentence before Kurtis knocked him out cold with a brutal strike.
"He's a parent-killer, wife-abuser, and
even dared to slander his
superiors less than a man," Kurtis snarled, fossing Raeford out like a bag of trash before storming back into the command center. This whole situation was utterly humiliating.
The scruffy man stared at the face he would never forget, an undisguised malice on his face. But the two Aerial Legion soldiers were still present, and they had to take Raeford back for trial, so he held back his emotions and silently followed behind them.
