Chapter 676: Die, run out of air
When Hector thought of this, he couldn't rest on his laurels and couldn't bring himself to watch people twenty-four hours a day. But then, Eloise is bound to be suspicious.
Retreating to the next best thing, he sent someone over for protection.
He proved to be extremely prescient.
Eloise sat frozen on the floor for a long time.
That woman, why did she want to put herself in harm's way?
She didn't even know her. Besides, she was the one who wanted to help her because she didn't have money for food.
Why on earth would this happen, Eloise wondered.
Meeting Eloise's searching gaze, Agnes felt as if her blood had been dipped in ice from head to toe, sending chills through her body.
It was not at all expected that Eloise would be alive under these circumstances.
There were no pre-selected options and Agnes was a bit overwhelmed at the time.
The image of Hector flashed through her mind and Agnes blanched a little, the smile fading from her lips and being replaced by a sense of dread. This time, Hector will surely get her killed, right?
With this thought, Agnes' body suddenly trembled.
She didn't want to go back to that dark basement and be tortured like that again.
So Agnes turned and ran like a madman.
It was as if there was death chasing her behind.
Eyes blinded by fear, all she knew was that she had to run, run far away, not to be caught.
She quickly ran down a road without raising her head.
Panicked, he was about to dash across the pedestrian crossing.
Completely oblivious to the fact that it was a red light at the moment.
"Drop!"
The shrill honking of a siren pierced the sky and Agnes' eardrums were irritated as she followed the sound in bewilderment.
The next second, the pace came to a raw halt.
His mind went blank, his face was dead white, as if he was frozen in place, unable to escape no matter what.
A large truck was coming towards her at breakneck speed and within easy reach.
She could see the same horrified expression on the van driver's face as he shouted something at her.
The sounds of the world, however, could not penetrate his ears, and at the moment Agnes was left with nothing but fear, feeling the imminence of death.
The driver of the lorry didn't expect the pedestrian crossing to suddenly sprout people, saw the Agnes crossing and wanted to slam on the brakes but it was too late. "Bang!"
A loud sound echoed through the air as the tyres of the big truck scraped against the ground, accompanied by a dull thud that resonated through the sky. Agnes' body was knocked straight out of the way.
The body was thrown into the air and slammed heavily to the ground.
She lay on the ground and convulsed, blood flowing from her seven orifices.
The chest cavity had exploded under the tremendous impact.
Blood spat out of Agnes' mouth and her two eyes opened like copper tombstones, all white.
The immense pain caused her body to twist together in an extremely grotesque position.
The body is a bloody mess and the face is covered in blood, clinging to messy hair.
The pale sky was soon tinged with blood red.
At that end, however, the van hit Agnes and lost control of the steering wheel.
It struck a series of cars on the road, losing control of the car and hitting another passer-by.
The intersection suddenly became chaotic.
The shrill sound of the car, the scraping and wailing, resounded through the empty silence along with the smoke of the car stalling.
Traffic on the whole road came to a standstill and all the cars were forced to stop, with some of the less injured car owners running down in a panic. "Ahhhhhh!"
Some of the passers-by who were in great distress broke down and screamed at the sight of the gory scene.
Those who still retained their senses scrambled to pull out their mobile phones to call the police, telling them that there had been a major traffic accident on their side. In the meantime, 999 was called over for resuscitation.
"Hurry up, the girl over here who was hit by a truck, well ... it doesn't seem to be working."
The passerby was shaking all over with his mobile phone, looking in the direction of Agnes, and couldn't speak well.
This modest area was instantly crowded with people.
Some of the struck passers-by lay wailing on the ground holding their injuries, and only Agnes, fell motionless in a pool of blood.
Someone boldly stepped forward and probed Agnes' breath, instantly turning pale and backing away in fear.
"Die, die, run out of air..."
"Oh my God!"
The crowd gathered sniffed and panicked.
Covering his eyes, he sighed at the poor man who had been hit.
Someone who couldn't bear to watch such a bloody scene had his stomach churning and ran to the side, vomiting.
The faces of the onlookers also turned grey and sullen.
And this scene also fell on the eyes of a man not far away.
Marian arrived just in time to see Agnes being knocked off her feet.
She stood across the street, not choosing to go over, but hiding behind a building to surreptitiously watch the movement on Agnes' side.
This time, looking at the reaction of the passers-by, her eyes became obscure.
This Agnes, it seems, is hopeless.
Within moments, the sound of police cars, and ambulances came roaring by.
It arrived almost simultaneously.
"Make way, everyone, make way, the ambulance is here!"
The person who called the police shouted at the top of his voice.
The crowd automatically gave way.
The ambulance got down and transferred all the people who had been hit onto stretchers for transfer to hospital.
Yet at the sight of Agnes' miserable state, the paramedics looked stunned.
Panic commanded the men to be taken away.
The ground was soon just a streak of blood.
The officers also looked very grave at the scene.
A few people went to clear the traffic in an emergency.
For the onlookers, the police questioned them one by one.
"Comrade police, I don't know anything and when I came over, I saw that the crash had happened."
When confronted with queries, most people said the same thing, stating that they hadn't seen anything. The police were helpless and temporarily evacuated some of the crowd, but left them all contact details.
The traffic was cleared by the traffic police and soon returned to normal.
Several of the car owners involved and those who were not seriously injured were taken back to the police station with the intention of questioning them in detail later. The chaotic scene eventually slowly returned to normal, with only a streak of blood on the ground to prove that a huge car accident had just occurred here.
Marian took it all in and his face grew more and more sombre.
"That piece of crap!" Cursing low, Marian was a little exasperated.
She hadn't expected Agnes to be so brainless at all.
Instead of killing Eloise, he got himself killed.
This leaves you with one less piece in your hand.
It's not going to die down for a while with the way things are going.
There was something vaguely unsettling in her mind.
Agnes is dead so be it, just don't implicate her.
With this in mind, Marian had put on her sunglasses and turned to leave in a hurry as the police evacuated the crowd.
