The cabin erupted with piercing screams as chaos unfolded. A powerful gust

of wind swept through the aircraft, shattering the glass windows and

creating a whirlwind that instantly sucked everything into the abyss outside.

Emmanuel remained anchored in place, while the other passengers flailed

helplessly against the overwhelming force.

Observing their frantic struggle, he recognized them for what they truly were:

ordinary assassins, woefully unprepared for the situation. Seizing the

moment, he swiftly incapacitated them one by one before rushing to seal the

broken window, a barrier between safety and the unknown.

As the reality of the situation settled in, it became painfully clear: Ethan had

boarded a hijacked plane. Emmanuel understood that the simplest and most

reliable method to eliminate Ethan was to orchestrate an airplane disaster.

However, such a grim plan would inevitably claim the assassins‘ lives as well.

Unless they were truly fanatical, no typical paid assassin would willingly

embrace death for the sake of their profession.

The fact that these ordinary killers were still fumbling with their weapons

indicated their reluctance to bring the plane down. It was clear to Emmanuel

that they would likely send someone to seize control of the cockpit. With this

realization firm in his mind, he snatched a flight attendant’s uniform and

made his way toward the cockpit, determination coursing through him:

Meanwhile, in the elegant first–class cabin, Ethan’s female assistant

continued her conversation, her voice a mixture of concern and formality. “Mr.

Hale, we took off early without waiting for Mr. Wolf. Commander Adkins will

surely perceive this as a slight. All we can do is pray that our journey goes

smoothly and that no trouble arises.”

Ethan sighed, a flicker of unease crossing his features. “I didn’t expect the

plane to take off early either. We’ll have to address this once we land. Let’s

hope for a safe journey ahead.”

Chester, overhearing their exchange, felt a wave of humiliation wash over

him. He coldly interjected, “Mr. Hale, I am your personal bodyguard. I can

ensure your safety. Besides, we’re already on the plane. What could possibly

go wrong?”

His voice, though steady, masked a deeper unease simmering beneath the

surface.

Ethan understood Chester’s frustration but let out another weary sigh.

“Chester, I have complete confidence in your abilities. Under normal

circumstances, having just you would be sufficient. However, these are

extraordinary times. President Silverbane was just attacked, and I fear that

someone may have set their sights on me.”

The female assistant, sensing the tension, further elaborated for Chester’s

benefit. “Mr. Hale is leaving Zovince to inspect the disaster areas in

Riverhaven. Once we reach the western regions, he will require a security

team to accompany him. You cannot handle all the protection alone.”

Chester’s irritation bubbled to the surface. “How ridiculous. If I can’t manage it,

how can Mr. Wolf? Can he genuinely bring a security team onto the plane?

Even if he did, it would merely mean one more person,”

Before the female assistant could respond, a melodious yet sinister laugh

echoed through the cabin, sending a chill through the air.

“Haha, Mr. Chester is right. Even if you let that Mr. Wolf board, it would just

mean one more corpse.”

The atmosphere thickened with tension as the voice reverberated among

the first–class passengers. Chester immediately sprang to his feet,

positioning himself protectively in front of Ethan. His voice tightened with

concern. “Who are you?”

The woman who had spoken wore a striking fuchsia flight attendant uniform

that clung to her alluring figure. Her beauty was undeniable, but an ominous

air surrounded her, hinting at the danger lurking beneath her charming

facade.

“Haha, Chester, are you interested in me? Do you want to date me? Sadly, I’m

just not into your type.” Her mischievous grin contrasted sharply with the

threat she posed.

In a sudden, fluid motion, she waved her hand. Instantly, a group of assassins

disguised as flight attendants surged through the front and back doors of

first class, launching a vicious attack on the unsuspecting passengers.

Fortunately, the airport’s security system had thwarted any attempts to

smuggle in dangerous weapons, leaving the attackers armed only with

smaller, less lethal arms.

“Bad news! Protect the Prime Minister!” the female assistant shouted urgently,

her voice slicing through the chaos.

Panic rippled through the first–class cabin. Though the passengers consisted

mostly of powerless bureaucrats, Chester’s combat skills were impressive.

With him shielding Ethan, the assassins found themselves momentarily

thwarted in their advance.

Seeing the opportunity, the crimson–clad female assassin flipped her wrist

and produced a sleek surgical knife. Her gaze locked onto Chester’s throat,

plotting a stealthy attack.

“Chester, watch out!” Ethan’s heart raced, his breath catching as he

witnessed the female assassin lunging toward his protector.

Fortunately, Chester managed to evade her strike, a testament to his

training. Yet, in that fleeting moment, two agile male assassins leaped from

opposite sides, each gripping one of Chester’s legs tightly. They pinned him

down, granting the female assassin the opening she desperately needed.

“Haha, Mr. Hale, my apologies. But I must send you off to the afterlife.” The

assassin lunged forward, her knife poised to slice Ethan’s throat, the deadly

intent clear in her eyes.

Ethan felt a surge of fear coursing through him, yet he maintained his silence

and composure, refusing to betray any signs of distress. He had long put the

notions of life and death aside, but when confronted with the looming threat

of death, his body reacted with instinctive reflexes.

In a moment suspended in time, the wrist of the assassin was suddenly

grasped by another. She had been mere centimeters away from slicing

through Ethan’s throat, yet now her hand lay motionless, unable to move

Chester, a figure of confidence, flashed a bright smile that revealed his

gleaming white teeth. “You assassins certainly possess skills, but your

execution leaves much to be desired.”

In a swift, fluid motion, the assassin drew another knife, intent on retaliating

against Chester and making her escape. However, he had anticipated her

maneuver and skillfully snatched the small dagger from her grasp.

“What do you think you will accomplish by running? We are in an airplane. Do

you truly believe you can jump out?” Chester remained unfazed, casually

toying with his newly acquired weapon. At that moment, the assassins in first

class had been subdued, with Chester having dealt with most of them

single–handedly.

Although Ethan’s team had sustained injuries, miraculously, no one had lost

their life. Furthermore, Mr. Hale remained unharmed, marking a significant

triumph for Chester as a personal bodyguard.

Meanwhile, Emmanuel donned the flight attendant’s uniform, hoping to

deceive the assassins. However, as he hurried toward the cockpit, he found

no sign of attackers. It seemed the private plane had boon deserted.

Only when he neared first class did he hear a tremendous commotion.

Alarmed that Ethan might be in grave danger, he rushed inside.

To his astonishment, as he burst through the rear door of first class, the

female aide shouted in alarm, “Chester, watch out! There’s another assassin

behind you!”

Chester scoffed, unfazed by her warning. He casually used the dagger he

had just seized as a throwing weapon, aiming to stab Emmanuel in the

throat.

His internal strength surged, and the blade gleamed with lethal sharpness.

Such a sudden ambush left few with the ability to survive unscathed. Yet,

Emmanuel stood his ground, not flinching or retreating. With a graceful

motion, he caught the blade barehanded and disarmed Chester with an

elegance that stunned everyone present.

Shock rippled through the room.

Even the crimson assassin, unable to see Emmanuel’s face clearly, initially

believed he was a master assassin dispatched by the organization to assist

her in finishing off her target.

“How infuriating!” she exclaimed.

Chester suddenly felt a wave of immense pressure. He lunged forward,

determined to catch Emmanuel off guard; otherwise, he feared that if his

opponent steadied himself, he would not stand a chance.

Emmanuel, with no choice but to evade, shouted repeatedly, “Do not attack

me! Please stop!”

But Chester paid no heed, mistaking Emmanuel’s pleas for weakness. In a

desperate bid to eliminate him, Chester pressed forward.

With no other options available, Emmanuel executed a precise grappling

move, bringing Chester to the ground with unexpected ease.

“How is this possible?” the female aide gasped in astonishment.

Within Chester’s heart, disbelief swirled like a tempest. His expression shifted

to one of sheer terror. He belonged to the ranks of S+ Rank warriors, having

navigated the martial arts world for years with hardly a worthy opponent.

Now, finding himself subdued in a single move, he was left with a profound

sense of despair.
