Chapter 1045
Originally, she planned to wait until the Destiny Night fashion show to confront Lydia. But with a sister like hers, who could blame her for wishing for a speedy exit? Blake's anger spilled onto Cynthia, humiliating her. Flora simply returned the favor.
Blake was left speechless, finally understanding Flora's intentions. Blake had taken out her frustrations on Cynthia, so Flora retaliated against Blake's sister. Who would've thought Flora would be such a powerhouse? Not only did she have connections with big shots in the medical field, but she also had ties with folks in the fashion industry. With a single word, she could derail Lydia's career.
Suddenly, regret washed over Blake. Maybe she should've left Flora alone from the get-go. Then Lydia wouldn't have crossed Flora, and they wouldn't be in this mess.
"Serves them right," Cynthia thought, watching the downfall of Blake and Lydia with deep satisfaction. They had brought this upon themselves.
"I'll be taking them now," Mr. Valerio said, casting a look of disdain their way. There was another grilling session waiting for them at the station.
"Go on, take 'em," Colin said, irritation in his voice. "These two are just an eyesore around here. I'm worried I might lose my cool and do something rash."
Mr. Valerio twitched his mouth, signaling for two officers to step forward and cuff Blake and Lydia. They moved like puppets with no strings, letting the cops lead them away. "Thanks for handling this, Uncle!" Cynthia beamed sweetly.
Mr. Valerio shook his head with a fond smile and headed out.
"So, you're Flora, right?" Colin turned to Flora, his sternness easing up. "XinXin talks about you all the time. You've been such a help to her. We owe a lot to you for today." "Uncle Chen, you're too kind," Flora replied with a modest shake of her head.
Colin grinned broadly. "Tell you what, let me treat you to dinner. Don't turn me down, okay? Do me the honor."
"Alright," Flora agreed. It was about dinner time anyway.
Colin's face lit up as he looked at Flora, something clicking in his mind. "Wait a minute, Flora, weren't you the military training champ for the new recruits this year?" "I suppose so," Flora nodded.
Colin smacked his forehead. "That's it! You're the one! Remember when the national military base sent you an invite? The consul himself came knocking on your door!"
Back then, Colin was bogged down
with other stuff, only catching snippets about the University of Maple Grove's shooting ace who was trending online. Consul Lin had even made three trips to persuade Flora, but she stood her ground.
That night, he returned to the military base, and they ended up sharing a quiet drink.
Flora paused, memories flooding back. Oh, right, she remembered now.
Just then, Flora's phone buzzed. It was a message from Rafael:
"Flora, Kaylee and I are here, waiting for you at the University of Maple Grove's entrance-"
On the other side, things were light-hearted Lydia and Blake were led out by the cops. The building was surrounded by curious onlookers, their stares like blunt
knives cutting through the
Lydia wore a look of defeat, like a lifeless shell. Being blacklisted by Rose's Studio meant her world had come crashing down. Ruined...
She let out a cry to the heavens, but then her eyes caught a familiar figure. Her body jolted. It was Kaylee!
Kaylee had been out of town,
prepping for an international competition, her phone confiscated
the whole time. It was only yesterday that she got it back and found out about Flora's return and the online buzz.
