"You dare?" Cedric still spoke arrogantly, convinced that these insurance agents wouldn't do anything to him.

But when he saw a man approach with a cold expression, he was stunned. The man roughly pried his mouth open and yanked his front tooth out with pliers.

The pain was so intense that tears sprang to his eyes. Another man immediately seized his throat, leaving him completely unable to make a sound.

The speed was so swift that Cedric didn't have a chance to react.

By the time he realized what had happened, his mouth was filled with blood and sharp, stabbing pain. His eyes widened in fear.

When he saw Ellison's frigid expression, he felt a tremor deep in his bones. This man was a devil.

"I hear that when a man is castrated at the height of his excitement, he won't feel the pain. You two should give it a try," Ellison said coldly, cradling Joycelyn's head against his chest as he protected her and started to leave, tossing these words that would haunt Cedric and Tristan forever.

The moment Joycelyn heard this, she shuddered and instinctively tightened her grip around Ellison. Just hearing it made it sound like the ultimate punishment.

"I want to go home," Joycelyn murmured, clutching at his shirt.

"Okay, we'll go home now," Ellison replied softly, signaling his bodyguards to handle things quickly and decisively.

William confiscated Cedric's phone and moved ahead to open the door.

Joycelyn didn't want to look at Cedric and Tristan's disgusting faces. Her tears seemed endless, staining Ellison's expensive

shirt.

"Please, no, please," they begged behind them.

"Sir, please, let us go," they whimpered.

But Joycelyn wasn't interested in their pleas.

After everything they'd done to her, it was time for them to experience a taste of their own medicine. She only wanted to escape and never return.

In the elevator, Joycelyn lay still in Ellison's arms. His scent was the only thing that gave her a sense of security. "Bringing so many people here, won't it expose your identity?" she asked quietly, her voice muffled against him.

"It's fine," Ellison replied, his hand resting on her waist, gently patting her back. "Except for the elevator, the power's off everywhere, no one can see anything."

Ellison didn't sit on the other side of the car. Instead, he crossed his legs, holding Joycelyn in his lap, allowing her to stay nestled in his arms.

Joycelyn lifted her gaze for a moment and saw that the entire area was dark, not a single light in sight. Even the Mercer family's lights were off.

The darkness was eerie. Joycelyn trembled slightly, then quickly averted her eyes, burrowing back into Ellison's chest.

At that moment, she was more dependent on Ellison than ever before. It felt as though only he could provide safety in her world.

After a while, she sniffled and asked, "How did you know I was in trouble?"

"Your distress signal came to my phone," Ellison answered in a soft, calm tone. "I saw the location and came straight away"

He gently stroked her back, patiently soothing her without any accusations.

His words were full of concern and gentle sorrow.

"Because I knew you wouldn't come back to the Mercer family on your own. I was worried you might be in danger." His voice was low and quiet, like a stream gently flowing in the forest.

Tears welled up in Joycelyn's eyes again.

It seemed that he understood her and cared for her even more than she had imagined.

"Thank you," she said, her voice breaking as she pressed her face against his chest.

She didn't know how to repay him, so she clung to him tightly, staying close to him.

Ellison wrapped her even more securely in his arms, his voice tender as he asked, "Do you want to go to the hospital?"

"No," Joycelyn whispered, shaking her head. "I just want to go home."

"Okay," Ellison replied, nodding and telling William to drive them home.

After they left, the Mercer family building became the stage for a gruesome operation.

-The bodyguards remained silent as they gave Cedric and Tristan stimulant drugs. Once the effects

kicked in, they were

pinned to the ground by four bodyguards, and the lead surgeon performed the operation, removing their testicles.

After the procedure, Cedric managed to crawl outside, covered in blood, and begged for help. His neighbors rushed him to the hospital.

Even when the police arrived, they dismissed Cedric and Tristan's explanations, labeling it as a drug- induced incident where the two men had harmed each other. No matter how Cedric and Tristan tried to protest, their pleas were rejected.

Cedric and Tristan were completely ruined.

These were the events that Joycelyn learned of later.

Back home, in a safe environment, Joycelyn's tense emotions finally began to ease.

"I heard someone paid them to harm me," she said, keeping her head lowered, looking uneasy.

She seemed physically fine, but the trauma from the danger had triggered some post-stress responses.

For example, when Ellison tried to help her undress to prepare for a bath, she immediately stopped him, saying, "Don't

touch me."

She clutched her clothes tightly, and her swollen, tear-streaked eyes glanced at Ellison. She knew her reaction had hurt him, so she quickly apologized, "I'm sorry..."

Ellison reached up to gently touch her face, his voice soft and filled with tenderness. "You don't need to apologize. It's my fault for not protecting you properly."

Joycelyn froze, staring at him in confusion. Her throat tightened, but the words wouldn't come out.

It should have been her apologizing to him, for getting him worried and causing him trouble. Yet he was apologizing to her.

Ellison's gaze deepened, his eyes soft like he was looking at something precious that he had almost lost. "I really wanted to deal with those two scumbags myself earlier, Ellison said slowly, his voice laced with pain. "But I didn't want to scare you."

His words struck Joycelyn hard.

"Ellison, I think... I really like you," Joycelyn whispered, her lips trembling as tears flowed down her face.
