Don’t Fall for the Billionaire Lover

Chapter 734

Chloe knew all too well. For the foreseeable future, she'd have to stay on her toes, ready for anything that came her way. Returning to Eldridge City meant she was bound to face one storm after another.

never-ending battle really worth it?"

Grant seemed to catch the underlying message in Chloe's words. He said with a touch of detachment, "Being the daughter-in-law of the richest family around isn't a walk in the park. Everyone in that family has their own agenda, all targeting one person. Is diving into this Chloe shrugged it off casually, "For the love of my life, the one I want by my side forever? Absolutely, it's worth it." She set down a photo and added, "Besides, I don't think this is a war without end. Peace will come eventually."

Seeing her resolve and lack of fear, Grant didn't push further. He set up an office for Chloe and gave her a personal tour of the company. Everyone there knew who she was. Her identity had been made public at the last QUEEN global jewelry show. She was QUEEN's famous MISSY. So, naturally, she was met with the utmost respect by everyone.

That afternoon, a company-wide management meeting took place. It was officially announced that Chloe had joined QUEEN as the Chief Designer. However, she still hadn't encountered the elusive MISS X or MISS Z. Curiosity got the better of her, and she asked about them. Grant explained, "MISS Z is currently down in South Africa handling the setup of a diamond factory and won't be back for a while. As for MISS X, you'll meet him tonight."

The welcome dinner was held in a VIP room at Pure White. About twenty folks showed up, mostly major shareholders and top execs. It was a young crowd, unlike most corporate gatherings, which made for a lively atmosphere. Naturally, Chloe was most intrigued by MISS X. She introduced herself to everyone at the table, yet he was nowhere in sight.

Just as she was about to ask, the

door swung open. A tall figure, donning sunglasses and a red trench coat, stood at the entrance. At first glance, Chloe couldn't quite pin down the person's gender. The figure had a masculine build and very short hair, but the fitted red trench coat, the limited edition Hermes bag on his arm, and the sleek black leather boots made it hard to tell.

He strutted in on high heels, heading straight for Chloe. He looked her up and down before saying in an incredibly haughty voice, "So, you're MISSY?"

Though his voice was distinctly

male, it carried an air of superiority. Chloe Kadn't even responded when Grant jumped in, "Chloe, meet MISS X, Edgar."

Chloe was taken aback and asked, "If you don't mind me asking, are you a gentleman or a lady?" She needed to know how to address him correctly.

Edgar, with a sharp tone, replied, "I'm male. Are you blind?"

Chloe didn't take offense; instead, she clarified, "But you go by MISS X publicly, so I assumed you were female."

Edgar removed his sunglasses,

playfully flicked his imaginary hair,

swiveled his neck, and lifted his chin, "First off I'm biologically male, but deal with gender dysphoria. I've always felt like a woman, so present myself as MISS X. Got a problem with that?"
