Chapter 4136
Elissa’s voice trembled as she inquired, “So, you want me to go?”
Raphael held her arm, gazing out into the night.
After a long pause, he asked, “Elissa, will you wait for me? It might take three, five years, or even longer for me to set things right for you and the baby.
”
As the founder of Pryor Technology, he brought about its downfall single-handedly.
He hoped to rebuild their future together.
However, he wasn’t sure if the woman beside him, who had endured so much pain, would be willing to stay and wait for him to create a future that truly belonged to them both.
There was a prolonged silence from the person beside him.
Raphael sensed her reluctance.
After a moment of contemplation, he spoke softly.
“Tomorrow, I’ll arrange for you to go abroad.
”
Raphael knew Elissa loved their child and didn’t want to go back to the Palmers.
So, he asked her if she wanted to stay with him.
Standing up, he offered his hand to her.
“I’ll drive you back,” he added.
But she remained seated, gazing up at her husband.
With a steady yet trembling voice, she asked, “Raphael, I also want to know, do you have enough room for me in your heart now? Will the future you promise only be for us?”
Outside, the rain poured relentlessly.

His heart felt heavy, dampened by the downpour.
Silent, Raphael resumed his seat, allowing his wife to lean against his shoulder.
They sat in silence.
He sought to make amends for the past and promised to build a future with her.
Elissa’s tone carried bitterness as she spoke to Raphael.
“It’s not about loving you, Raphael.
It’s more about fearing that I may never find such a connection with anyone else.
I’m not inclined to alter the life we have now, so it’s not exactly Love.
”
Her words were laden with emotion.
Raphael’s response was gentle, quieter than the night itself.
“I understand.
I do,” he reassured her.
He pressed a gentle kiss on her hair and held her in his arms.
They held each other silently as the night deepened, and he tenderly wrapped his jacket around her shoulders.
Elissa softly inquired if he felt cold.
He reassured her that he wasn’t cold before inquiring if she felt sleepy.
Elissa confirmed that she was.
